yourAudi - Track New Car Order

Ordered today through drive the deal and a south coast Audi centre. £39915 list (up yours gov) and £32850 buy. I’ll take that thank you very much

As is traditional, the all important spec -
Navarra S3 Sportback
Comfort & sound with front & rear park
Tech pack with VC
Folding & Heated mirrors
Alu roof bars
High beam assist - I know, but I love it

Would’ve liked Supersports Seats as had them in prev S3 but won’t comprimise on colour, B&O or the Tech Pack, those seats are great looking but in my mind not worth the additional tax. No budget left for privacy glass either but that’s easy rectified should I decide it’s needed. I actually think that’s going to look pretty classy. Estimated May delivery. 3rd 8v and wicked price. I’m well chuffed with that. Not fussed at all about the new one pending and I’ll get it before the impact of any Brexit fallout because we don’t actually fall off the cliff until 9months after D Day, hopefully lol. I’m sure I read that somewhere. Either way we shall see. Will be an interesting ride. Anyone want to buy a mega spec’d 66 plate Kuga in May... ;)

Question for you helpful lot...have I got the Tax threshold wrong there? The RRP is actually only £38715 with on the road price @ £39915
Can I get my SSS after all????

OTR price will inc £570 for 1st years tax and registration fee which dont count. So list can be up to £40,570 to remain in the lower tax bracket....

Mine arrived at Audi today, got call to arrange collection - Thurs 21st! Managed to get it down to Wed 20th but does it usually take that long? previous BMW's had 24/48hr turnaround for PDI.

Also they are saying even though i am coming to collect, as i am not local they need me to send documentation inc my drivers license via recorded delivery in advance of collection "as finance can take 24hrs to setup". This may be the case but wanted to check as would like to a) push back on PDI time and also push back on sending such documents through post if i am collecting it.

I’m so bored of playing with the Configurator hahaha back I go again and I recon my posh seats are back in the deal but may have to knock off HBA, I’ll have a play. Cheers

Guess it just depends how busy the dealer is to how quickly they can accommodate your PDI and collection.

Addition of SSS gets it to £40565 and bang on the suggested limit! Get in
Should be in time to change it before the dealer even enters the order. @listers_socks thanks again for the info

I have never signed any documents until collection day, that way I get a proper look at it before signing and if any thing is amiss then the balls in your court. The longest it has ever taken from signing and transfer of funds from the finance company was 35mins.

I am finding it quite odd, initially they thought i wanted driven delivery but i dont, so i could understand the need for all docs to be sent in advance for delivery but not for collection.

Has anyone gone through this very recently with Audi for their new car? My experience with BMW before was on collection i would sign documents, provide copy of license for them to scan and they would have already registered vehicle with DVLA that day (or day before).

This dealership is asking me to:
- Sign 4 pages of the finance agreement
- Sign 3 pages of the FCA documents
- Sign a confirmation of DVLA registration document
- Send all via recorded delivery inc original card driving license

If this is standard process now then fair enough, but before arguing with them i wanted to see if others had to do this prior to collection recently as finance is usually immediate (given they have done the finance application checks prior to ordering).

Well I have just got my S3 in January 2019 and I signed on the day mate.

5 days and my car is still code38. My dealer says any import tax should be paid by Audi should there be any if we leave with no deal, Audi UK says they have no policy at the minute and no press release...! So I have no clue. I suspect my car should clear customer in UK around the 29 lol.

I think you’ll be ok. Won’t get political on here (at least not into a debate about the rights and wrongs of it) but can you imagine the cost both to Germany and to the UK if EU car imports went up 10% overnight. Would undoubtedly result in lots of cancelled orders impacting both sides. It will go to the wire because both sides have poker faces on, but it would be beyond stupid for us to fall out with no deal. Surely our wise politicians won’t allow that to happen......oh , hang on tight

The only way we now fall out with no deal on March 29 is if the Eu tell us and our crazy gang to do one because thier patience has run out, or they’ve now decided (like we did to the Eu collectively, not individually) to stick it in the f it bucket and stick us the middle finger. They’ll be huge pressure on the remaing members from big hitters like Germany to not just cut us loose. I’ve just ordered this week because I like drama and anticipation. If my cost jump by 10% it’ll push me into the mega car tax (over 40k) and impact my monthlies. I’d take it but my Mrs may punch me in the head and in all honesty, I’d certainly consider pulling the plug. Man maths calculator would have some serious work to do

How are you checking shipping info?
I’ve been checking ship and port information on marinetraffic
Malacca Highway has been doing the Sheerness run recently but it’s docked in Cuxhaven at the minute and no ships at Emden have updated with Sheerness as a destination.

Sadly mine is still code38, The City of Rotterdam which was doing the Emden to Grimsby run has switches up to Emden to Sheerness. Looking increasingly unlikely that I’m going to get through customs before the 29th!

Have you checked with Audi UK via Facebook? Mine was further ahead whenever I spoke to them rather than using MyAudi

Aw that’s no good. Keep us updated with how you get on. Might get lucky if the extension to article 50 goes through till late May

Mines at Emden still showing Code38, been there 11 days. BW10, Sucks that your's has been in UK for 3 weeks!! At least I now have until April 12th to get it by customs based on last night... But damn I'm getting inpatient.

Yes me too, it’s very frustrating!

Mine was build week 6. It’s been sat at the UK port for nearly three weeks now.
According to Audi UK it should only sit at port in the UK for a week before being collected by a transporter to the dealership

I’ve just checked with Audi UK on Twitter and they have informed me that the car has been sat at the UK port since 2nd March!

That’s bad. Have the dealership not been able to chase it up? I just told my guy that I wanted it on the 29th because I’m down that way for an interview and they said that they’ll make it happen and that’s fine. I believe my car hasn’t arrived at the dealership but possibly put in a request for it to be moved for that date? Not sure. Tbh, they should just drop you an email or phone call to say you haven’t been forgotten about IMO

Audi UK’s response today

Good afternoon, John. We can confirm that your vehicle has the status code of 38. We would recommend contacting your selling Audi Centre directly to discuss the entitlement to a courtesy vehicle, as your vehicle is delayed. Please, let us know if we can assist you further.

As others have said i would be pushing your dealers if sat at port still. They need to book a transporter and arrange collection so i dont think it is Audi it is now over to your dealer to push collection. Worth asking Audi on Facebook or your dealer if they have booked a transporter yet. It may be that they have a number of new cars coming in and are not pushing for it to be collected.

Nevermind it was on it last night! From Audi;

Good evening, John. Your order is at status code 40 and has arrived at the UK port of Grimsby today. If the ship arrives during the working week, vehicles take on average 24 hours to be unloaded. The car can wait for up to one week to be assigned to a transporter for delivery to the Centre. Once on the transporter, the timescale for delivery to the Centre is three to five working days.
