Rnse poor radio reception!!

Ive already found outer threads about this issue with b7s and 8p a3s but haven't yet found a definitive answer.

So when retrofitting my rnse i found i forgot to order a adapter for the radio antenna/ariel. My original HU was a symphony 2 so had a look on ebay and there were loads that didn't cater for adapting the seperate single fakra and iso connectors(for symphony) into the double fakra (rnse).

Im getting that really the annoying thing where the radio will only let me pick up national stations, radio 1,2 etc and greys out almost every other station preventing me from selecting them.

A bit of research on the interwebs point towards incorrect antenna diversity setup. My avant has no sharkfin but 2 aerials in both rear 1/4 glass.

Looking at what i believe to be the diversity module behind the n/s/r 1/4 trim, there looks to be a couple of empty connectors. I was wondering if it would be a case or adding an extra wire between the module and the rnse?

My knowledge is very limited on this topic so any help is much appreciated.

I've never seen a silver buttoned one of them, however with those antenna connections on the rear, it should just need the standard dual fakra adapter, basically same as the one you've linked just minus the yellow fakra as you use existing by putting into the empty socket in the white end that connects to the rns.

So my car should be setup correctly to support full antenna/ariel signal then? With the parts ive used.

I avoided an adapter like this as it didnt seem to connect all of my different antenna wires.

I was wondering if the aerial in the rear window was on its way out, but the signal has only turned duff since upgrading the HU.

Thats the one you need as you take the existing yellow fakra apart & fit that into the spare adapter slot

I see. By spare adapter do you mean the empty of the 2 ports in the double fakra? Surely the one i bought does the same job though

Ran a scan on vcds and found this fault if it helps.

The other 2 faults registered are to do with cd changer and tv tuner and un related as they aren't fitted.
