Just trying to add that up in my head...so for £4000 you get:

- sports exhaust £1000
- pano roof £1200?
- styling pack £400
- SS seats £800
- black wheels £800?
- carbon inlays ££?? No idea on those but guessing £400.

So about £4600 if ordered separately...sound about right? Of which most wouldn’t bother with the carbon inlays!

Not seen price yet imagine been small increase but looks to me same spec as before just added the sport pack to try make you spend more i am looking at m2 comp too very difficult choice for looks m2 far more beefy looking than rs3 but the rs3 interior is far nicer to be in performance wise not much in it.

Avoid the heavy squeaking pano roof ;)

I think the sport edition is basically smart selling... packaging all that into one means less options on the option list so people won’t be thinking that they have too many options! Or alternatively they will think its a great deal.

Also interesting on the configurator is the new Q3 - I am not sure how long it’s been there but - I am pretty confident that the next A3/RS3 will look like that both inside and out. Just lower.

Yeah its hardly a bargain is it ????

Plus I think its really poor that Audi are offering the Saloon alloys on the sportback as an 'upgrade' in this pack and the sportback alloys as an 'upgrade' on the saloon ... that is just lazy by Audi

Very interesting that order books have been opened up again considering how little time is left before the new A3 arrives. They must have a backlog of parts sitting around to clear out before production ceases.

Great news for people who missed out previously when the order books suddenly closed. I missed out last time but am really unsure if I can / could justify £50k on what’s soon to be an old shape and in probably under 2 years a new model will surely be out.

Nether the less, great to see such an amazing car back for sale.

whats up with the pan roof?
Mine has squeaked with the roof closed from day 1 , especially when driving on/off my drive or turning a tight corner, its ok on a straight and level road.
The dealer has tried to rectify it by applying Krytox to the seals but that had no effect. My first service is due shortly so I shall ask them to have 'another go' then, very annoying though.

Heavy + high up in a "sports" car + they always go wrong, ask anyone that has one!

True but not mega heavy. I like them as it adds more like and can be left open even on motorway in hot temps. They do squeak and rattle but that's just a minor annoyance

I have the pano roof and yes it does squeak and rattle very occasionally... but I would still spec it every time. Nothing beats a hot, sunny day and having it wide open with your foot to the floor. It just lets every bit of that amazing 5 pot noise in!

The argument can be made that it's extra weight up high where you don't want it, but realistically I think unless you're planning on competitively tracking the car often then you shouldn't notice or care.

cheers for the replies about the pano roof as its on the spec list i have on my Rs3 hunt. If its just occasional squeaking i could (probably) deal with that.

It will be the same one as on my golf mk7 gti and I’ve had no issues with the pan roof whatsoever

Carbon Cabin Inlays are/were an £850 option, so that would bring your total to £5050

My warranty runs out in my PFL in 2021. For once an Audi model release might actually line up for me

Not sure about anyone else. But I like to have options when Configurating/buying a new car.
I’ve been on the UK configurator & you have minimal choice what to have as such. Where as the German configurator, you have many different options/choices what to have & what not to have.. Does anyone know why?

UK one “may” change to be more inline, just like German site has RS3 now but not UK yet. Al lot of the limiting of options Will have to do with WLTP, as cars need to be tested/passed in various configurations such as wheel sizes etc

The rotars just don’t look right on the saloon either.

Totally agree ... I don’t think either alloy looks right on the other.

The Kia esque alloys look fine on the saloon & the rotors are suited to the sportback ... but not the other way round.

Neither are great though. The rotors are years old.

Audi should have designed some new exciting alloys for these run out cars, just to add another element to them imo.

According to the UK config app. You can’t get the super sports seats unless you go for the Audi sport edition. Seems very strange.

This will be because of WLTP. So they would test Audi sport edition, and then limit other options as would need the varying configurations tested and signed off. Or they may add more options in the coming weeks and months, but more manufacturers are moving to bundled packs.

Talks about the need to test different models and configurations, hence some being reduced:

Different manufacturer, but on the New Merc A35, you can’t even get privacy glass without the night package, that puts the spoiler etc on, what the hell is that about.

RS design pack is also nowhere to be seen....that pack really adds so much to the cabin I don’t think I could own an rs3 without that as silly as that sounds! ATLEAST give us the extended leather package? No that’s gone too...

Just been speaking to my local Audi dealership and it seems that individual colour options are no more, at least for the foreseeable future anyway due to WLTP which is a real shame and sadly rules it out for me as an option. Don’t get me wrong, nothing wrong with the colours on offer by I really wanted orange or lime green. Damn....

It’s a shame, as it seems Audi is pricing out potential in what is let’s be honest, an outgoing model shape. This time next year the S3 will be available and by Christmas I expect the new shape RS3 to appear. A lot depends on the new power plant in the new RS3, but looking at the recent hype on the new A3 shape and tech, the new RS3 could be a monster....

But this was always the Audi way. Release the RS version, at the end of the cycle life. Never stopped people buying them before. Just depends on when the next RS3 is due. Can't see it being for a few years yet.

Golf has been announced to have been delayed till 2020 due to technology issues. Given the Golf / A3 share the same parts, and given the Golf is always released before the A3, an RS3 IS years away.

Golf release early 2020. A3 release mid/late 2020. Means an S3 is not likely till 2021 sometime. RS3 not likely till 12-18 months after the S3. So might not be looking at an RS3 till 2022
