Dear All,

Newbie here. Please be patient with me for next few months. Check the spec below copied from the audi dealership web portal for an Audi A7 Black Edition S Line 2015 64 plate. Anyone note any issues with the below? :) Hint: The features are all mixed up. I am a novice with Audis and I cant tell what is a standard feature and what is an option :(

Other issue I have is with the wording "Camera and or distance sensor" under Options fitted to this vehicle. Turns out there is no camera. I am going to be there armed with the below list and checking each feature :)

Why don't you go on the websites car configurator and key in the setup, taking notes of what you're ticking and mark them as 'Optional features' on your own list? I'm not sure what's what without doing the same.

Audi phonebox might not coming with wireless charging. Have a look at the rubber mat under the armrest for a iq Sign next. I thought mine came with wireless charging but found out it only became standard after 2017 I think. Nice spec same as mine

Thank you guys.

Bought the car and I'm delirious. Remember, my old car was a 2006 Accord. So it's a "slight upgrade" :)

I got suckered into buying the Autoglym protection. By the time I learned that its an overpriced gimmick, was too late as I was told it had already been applied.

Been driving all day yesterday and loving the drive. Got new street cred now. People give way now, lol.

Had to go back to the dealership as they forgot to give me the Autoglym accessories and the rear tyre pressure was low. There is an air bag light however and a message says that the passenger airbag is on. Confused. May go back again for help on this.

Took me a while to get the Audi connect working. Initially tried a sim then used a compatible phone.

No IQ sign. Annoyed why Audi would mention a feature which is not fitted in the car. Any point me kicking up a fuss? :)

I was felt the same. But after doing a ton of searching, people say it apparently it was an extra you could add on top of Audi phone box.

I got MY 64 about 2 months ago. Took it to Audi to find out why my phone wasn’t charging and they had no idea. But then again there are useless. Messaged them about service plans, audi connect and getting them to set me up on myAudi app so I can see my online service plan, All separately and they haven’t even messaged me back. Went there once and they were quite rude. I live in west London so I’ll let you guess which Audi I’m taking about. Rant over

As long as they can help me get rid of the airbag warning, I'm happy until the next crisis.

@Bishop187 Have you got music control buttons on the steering wheel? I only can see the volume adjustment. Am I just being thick? lol

Volume is always there. If want to change tracks u got to press the arrow buttons to go to media bit in between the dials and then scroll up and down and click the scroll button to change. I’m pretty sure you can program the * button to skip tracks, but I can’t do this because I have the heated steering wheel option

Ok I know what I need to do. I need to change the memory button or * to "skip fwd" to allow me to skip the track. Thanks @Bishop187

Can anyone advise what the software version means? Am I on a very old version used in the stone ages and stuck with it?

I know that the nav db version is old and can possibly update via myaudi/sdcard.

Cheers.
Kash

Took the car on a euro road trip to Switzerland. Loved the drive. In France, I drove the car over a small bump and it's slightly scratched the under car splash/rust protection. Thankfully car is absolutely fine, no funny noises, warnings etc. Might take to my nearest Audi garage to get checked.

The car started making this subtle knocking noise on my way back from Glasgow. Got it checked today and the wheel bearing has worn out.

Sytner Reading's exact words "The N/S/F wheel has a flat spot (buckled) this could have potentially caused the wheel bearing to wear out. The buckled alloy which may have happened due to you driving over a pothole "

I have been quoted £2k to fix the wheel bearing and wheel replacement! :rage::rage:

There is no way for me to prove that the car may have had the buckled alloy from before. Drive wise the car does not vibrate at all, so I'm surprised how the wheel bearing could be completely worn out.

I am contesting the diagnosis and have taken my car back. Will find out more when the Senior Manager is consulted.

Latest is that Audi have agreed to fix the wheel bearing under warranty.

I got the car independently checked and the front two wheels are buckled but slightly. I'm getting these repaired by a local alloy reconditioning place (which Audi also use).

£2k for alloy wheel and wheel bearing is totally bonkers.

You could get the wheel bearing done for £200-£300 and pick up a spare original 21 rotor alloy on Ebay for £300 easily = £500/£600.

I'm guessing wheel bearing must be pretty common in the A7 as I had to get mine done soon after purchase (in fairness to non-Audi dealer they kindly agreed to pick up the costs).

Both wheels were buckled. Getting them repaired. All in both wheels, to fix buckle, refurbishment etc = £300. So from £2k to £300, i'm in a happier place.

Need to start looking for some spare alloys.

That's much better pricing mate, and gets you saving lots of pennies.

I'm also in the process of getting spare alloys, poss for winter use - tempted with either RS7 one's or just go for replica rotor's which are around £650 for 20s.

I'm thinking of going from 21 to 19 inch tyres. I am parking on the road and constantly kerbing. Perhaps with 19, means more tyre and less kerbing in theory.

@Kashee be interesting to know what you go for.

I’d also interested to hear if the ride around town is more comfortable too!

The ride around town in the A7 is a painful experience for me in the 21 inch wheels. This is down to the countless potholes and speed breakers.

Ride will be better even dropping to 20s fir you, and 19s will save you even more money as easier to get/better pricing.

You should maybe consider wrapping them in F1 tyres as they have slight rim protectors and I run them on my A7 and Subaru........and fantastic tyres in dry and wet conditions.

Where you based Kashee?

I'm in Reading. Never knew even going to 20 would make a difference.

Projectors look nice, are they OEM or aftermarket?

I’m running 20” alloys on the 7 - was warned by a few people that the 21” gives quite a harsh ride, and don’t like potholes. I have 19” winters on.

Have hit a few potholes in and around Reading/Basingstoke, but not had any alloy damage (fingers crossed lol). I have the air suspension lowered, so I feel every bump!

OEM, purchased from creweaudi. My accord with 16" tyres gives a more comfortable drive around Reading and that's a scary confession. I'll need to get a 19 or 20 " set at some point. Reading town is a nightmare. Lots of potholes. Does the air suspension help reduce the bumpiness? Wish I had that too.

The air suspension helps, but it makes the car ride like it’s a floating boat when cornering at speed. A bit too much wallow.

I’m lowered 20mm, which helps some, but you feel every bump....

Mine is on 19's, and to be honest I'm very happy with the ride comfort and not into the slammed look anyway tbh :thumbs up:.

I have a set of 20" OEM S7 alloys if your interested. Took them off when I changed to black alloys and yellow calipers.

Sitting boxed up in the garage. If your interested I'll post some pictures....

Love the black and red theme. To be fair I couldn't tell those tire sizes. Looks lovely.

What sort are they RAF? Mine is on factory 20's but there were a few different designs if I remember correctly.

This is a pic of my car with the original alloys.

These were an option, described as matt titanium.

This is a stock picture from Audi of the wheel type. I’ll take some pictures of my actual ones tomorrow.

Oh man I want those. I'm not keen on mine but I'm sure someone out there will want them one day.

Airbag warning light appeared just before I went on holiday last month. It was there when I purchased the car. So came back and got it checked by Audi Reading.

So according to them it was due to the poor battery. Clear for now. Will need to go in for 3 days, if issue reappears.

They do their usual over zealous checks of the car and threw me a number of service related items (gearbox oil change, fuel filter, brake fluid) to be carried out plus worn brake pads and discs.

I pointed out that the car had been serviced a month before I purchased the car last December. They checked their "system" for service history and turns out these are not required (except for the 80% worn brake pads/disc...front driver side and rear passenger side, cost = £1k approx).

Disappointed that I had to challenge them to correct them.
