Morning all,
Fitted my rnse this morning and all coded in as per the Ross tech page. However the shuffle button/control on the MFSW doesnt seem to work. Volume works great. Mode and the PTT buttons also dont function but i put that down to not have bluetooth installed maybe?
My Rnse is SDS ready however so im a little unsure. Double checked through the coding and changed the adaptions according too.

I also forgot to buy the antenna adapter too doh! I cant imagine that would affect anything but who knows!

Cheers Alex

Hi Alex, Mine only started working when I installed factory bluetooth kit so I can use my phone.
I have disconnected it for now as I get a humming noise from the rear speaker when I turn the lights on, ? turn them off and all O.K.
Not sure what is causing this, but it could be a ground issue, job for better weather.

Factory bluetooth does not alow you to stream music either, on reflection there are some good after market units that do.

Ive kind of figured it out now. The shuffle button on the mfsw only seems to work when the cd is playing. When in radio mode the shuffle doesnt work ( i think due to every station being greyed out because of no aerial signal yet). Im pretty confident the coding is correct but i shall see when the fakra adapter turns up. I didnt bother coding the mode and PTT buttons to work until i install bluetooth.

With regards to bluetooth music streaming, i plan on fitting the oem aux as its and easy semi plug and play with the rnse, so oem bluetooth should fulfill my needs.

Hi Alex, yes sorry the radio shuffle scroll button works on mine as well, as you say having no aerial means your not fully woking yet.
I do not have cd player, I just use the two SD card slots for music, works o.k. for me and I can shuffle the track as well.

Not yet tried sd cards yet, im just trying to figure the thing out! I think at some point i might pop a cd changer un the glove box so the nav disc isnt taking up the main slot. The fakra adapter is on its way too. Its a good job the whole lots got to come back out as i forgot to eject all my cds from my symphony before removing it! B*g*er!

Hi Alex, for the Nav to work you need the map DVD in the RNSE unit, but i guess you know that.
Yes getting the disks out will help.
If you have the first type of RNSE you are limited to the size of card you can use, and the type of card as well, I think you can find how to do this on the web.

I know its a mk1 sds ready, software version 0600. Am i right in thinking the software update is done via the map update? Ive read you need at least 0650 to run the aux adaption.

My map update turned up today, loaded it all in set it going only to find it needed the radio code after, thats written on top of the HU. Now the damn thing wont come out of the dash no matter how hard i try. I think its its something to do with the retaining clips. Any way i will pop out the glovebox tomorrow morning and try to eek it out from the back.

Good luck Alex, hope it all goes well.
Just a bit strange its asking for the code, thought you would have put it in on power on?

I put the code in when i first fitted it and again after update. Popped the HU out by pushing from the back after removing the glovebox this morning. The whole car has now developed a few faults across most areas. Also the air bag light is now stuck on the dash since the glove box has been out. Never had it in the past strangely.

I know it may seem odd Alex but I had a similar issue, not audio based but to do with the brake pedal switch.
I replaced a while back , the next day I had a whole raft of errors ranging from abs failure to autogearbox software glitches, and my old bus is a manual.
think in total I had about 12 errors across a lot of modules, I had to clear most of them twice and the abs/ steering wheel sensor it took me days to sortout, all came about after changing the brake pedal switch , and then the reverse switch stopped..
you are not alone chap.

Its 1 step forward 2 back at the mo. When i first scanned after fitting the mirrors i only had the 2 door module faults, and 2 on the hvac, 1 of which ive sorted this morning (data learning fixed it). It seems peculiar how everythings gone down at once oike you said. Ill try clearing the faults individually through each adress.

On the plus side nav works a treat, i also adjusted the coding to try and remove a front speaker fault that appeared.

The rnse is coded without cd changer and tv tuner as they arent fitted on my avant. However im getting intermittent faults on those too

Hi Alex, When I removed my glove box i turn off the passenger airbag first before removing the plug, but when I plugged it back in I had Airbag fault on the dash, cleared it with Vagcom, all good.
I would check your RNSE coding, as CD player and TV tuner are options switch on/off if there on it will show faults as its looking for the
equipement but no found.

I can post my coding, later if you want, ive retrofitted mfsw and the rns-e and dont have cd-changer or any tuner.

But what is this datalearning?

Im going to retrofit my foldingdim mirrors soon

I used data learning in the adaptions menu for the HVAC, as my climate control panel had been changed. Basically just learns the vin of your car which is what was causing a particular fault in my case. I dont know if it applies to other modules, i found this out on Ross tech.
