Collected the BiTDi yesterday after a 600 Mike round trip back up to Glasgow.
I'd just like to start by saying how much of an awesome all-rounder this car is.

It's a MY12 car with FASH in SE guise with a few options including HUD, Lane Assist and many more that escapes me right now.

I'm sure I'll have loads of questions for fellow owners over the next wee while, but without any further ado, here she is....

Thanks Sandra. Ive just a few wee tweaks to do here and there, then it'll be getting some paint correction/ceramic coating.....then I'll maybe think about mapping it at some stage after Easter.

Sounds like you have your changes well though out. Few places in Scotland that do remapping. You have MB Jarvie in Glasgow, who are site sponsors also have dh automotive in bonnybridge who are mrc approved.

Also EcoTune in Hillington.
I'll probably speak to them all to see what BiTDi experience and results they've had.
Is there anywhere that you'd recommend personally, assuming you're from up this neck of the woods that is?

Tbh I've had to make a new profile up because I lost my old login after changing email address.
Been on and off here since about 2007, when I bought my A4 v6 2.5TDi Quattro with full Votex kit.

They are all very good, they have excellent reputations. Yes I not that far away. You should visit them all, and get as much info as you can before you make your final decision:)

What was your old username and I will look for it and merge with this one. :)

Think this was me, but no content from the old format has been carried over...

Lost to the ether I presume?

Looking good Phil, I too am a new MY16 BiTDi owner from Airdrie, fantastic cars, I’m also looking at a remap (so Ecotune and DH Automotive are on my radar) - group buy anyone??

Let me know if you decide on anything mate, might get a cheeky wee discount for two at the same time.

I will see if dh. Automotive have anything planned for a group buy on mrc mapping.

I’ll send Ecotune a message and ask, I’d be interested in DH Automotive/MRC too if there was a group buy!

They are both quoting 400bhp, which should be a laugh in these cars, especially with the Kufatec :icon thumright:

I know Stan at EcoTune quite well, and I work with one of his mappers' big brother. I'll give them a shout for a double mapping quote too :racer:.

Perfect mate :rockwoot:
I'm gonna swing by EcoTune on Monday and quiz Stan about what he can offer for the BiTDi A7. I'd be quite tempted to go stage2, with an egr/dpf delete if the price is right. Means that the dreaded egr cooler failure and dpf problems are all taken out of the equation.....plus the sound of the 3.0 BiTDi can be fully unleashed :whistle2:.
(£20 from Darkside Developments for the egr blanking kit)

Hi Phil

Good to see a local owner - I'm from Motherwell.

Lovey car - sorry for delay in commenting, I hadn't seen much chat on A7 BiTDi since I joined so hadn't been on much of late as new bambino keeping me busy :).

Not done too much to mine yet apart from alloys, tyres, calipers re-done, Kufatec box etc...

I'd be interested in map also, and poss giving them 3 cars on one order might really tempt them.......I planned on taking mine through to Ecotune. When I discussed the mapping in detail with them they advised 350 and 720nm torque figs and that was a few weeks back so wonder if they've further developed to now achieve 400 - although not hung up on that as the torque is awesome.

They quoted me £449 for the mapping (as single car).

Regards.

Hi Ray, I recognise the username from Subaru forums, how's it going?

That's the a7 in with EcoTune until I get back from a work training course on Friday. Looking forward to seeing what the real world results are like when I get back.

Will give you a shout to let you know, and maybe even arrange to see for yourself the increase in performance.

Hi Phil, yeah that's me from the Scooby forums...….had the silver hatch (22k mods on the engine bay alone ouchhhhh lol so prone to a little tweak here and there) and still got one which I use for daily run to work to save the A7 - how's things with you?

What did you go with Phil, map and anything else? I'm interested in seeing what results you get as defo something I plan to do in the next 2 months as it will certainly transform your car mate.

Your going to a happy guy come Friday...…...almost like driving back from Andy Forrest :)

Yeah good mate. I had a silver hatch diesel as my last Scooby, but have had 8 Scoobys in total over the years. I know so well that joyous drive back from AndyF's on remap day.

My spec is:

Pipercross air filter
Darkside Developments dpf delete pipe
(These things have two dpf's :blue:.)
Egr delete
Stage 2 remap from Stan/Andrew.

You've ploughed some money in to them over the years if you had 8 mate - I was bad enough with 3 then jumped ship to an XFR and didn't mod at all.

I didn't see anything online for the Stage 2 option just this one (Stage 1) - https://ecotune-scotland.co.uk/chiptuning?make=2&model=38&engine=487

Is it stage 2 they are able to take to 400.....any more details of cost/actual work they do Phil?

Cheers.

I'll send you a message regarding costs etc, but as for power levels it becomes a bit subjective depending on who you're reading about.

I know of some BiTDi cars getting to about 370bhp with just a remap, and of others quoting 400bhp with egr/dpf deletes. The usual unknown of what dyno they're being run on etc comes into play.
I pretty much know how the dyno at EcoTune runs, so I'll be able to compare to my previous stage 2 diesel remaps (Subaru 2.0D 138-211bhp and Mini 2.0SD 137-183bhp) on those rollers :thumbs up:.
