What have you done to your 8V today?

Finally got around to giving her a quick wash. Was too cold to go all out

Couldn’t get windows done as the window cleaner I use didn’t seem to work in the cold. No matter how long I rubbed the window here seemed to be a layer where as normally it would flash really quick leaving a streak free finish. ( autofinesse crystal glass cleaner )

It was only 2degree c

Starting small.. Replaced my puddle lights with the Audi rings one. Ordered a res delete from BCS which I should have next month.
Still waiting for quotes for ceramic coating and window tinting. (If anyone has any recommendations for a company in or around London, let me know!).

When I finally sort a mortgage out it has to have a double garage then I’m going to get drainage fitted inside so I can snow foam it out side the garage and move it inside to wash it lol. I hate dirty cars.

Got myself a 50m hose pipe for my Karcher K4. Was using a suction hose that went into a 30L bucket but filling that up and carrying 30 litres of water to the car was just getting to much!. So a LOOOOONG hose it was. Worked a treat with constant water flow to the K4

So this morning it was Auto finesse car detailing time again..............

1. Give the car a rinse
2. Spray Iron out on the alloys
3. Spray Citrus Power on the lower parts of the body work
4. Let that dwell, then rinse off both
5. Avalanche Snow Foam the whole car and wheels
6. After dwelling, rinse off
7. 2 Bucket was with Lather shampoo
8. Rinse then dry with the Aqua Deluxe drying towel
9. Then at the end i used some Satin Tyre Cream on the tyres

I did a full polish and wax around 3 weeks ago with Triple 3 polish and Glisten wax and as you can see by the pics its still gleaming! Feels silky smooth when drying!

Looks lovely mate! What wheels are they? Any more pics I'm loving them !

They are genuine Audi winter wheels for the a3/s3 saloon. I do have the part number somewhere. Always went with genuine cause insurance can be a bit funny on aftermarket alloys.
There’s a version of those alloys that are Matt grey/titanium with a polished/diamond cut face which I think will look great on the ara blue. Might do a refurb and see how these turn out.

Need to get some new tyres soon. Fronts won't have long left at all.

When I purchased the car a few months ago, the seller gave me two front tyres that he had purchased himself (the MOT just a couple weeks earlier said the wear was low). Nowhere around here will fit them though, since they aren't their own tyres.

Since I'm inevitability going to have to shell out money to get two new front tyres, is there any downside to having front/rear tyres that aren't matching? Would it be better to replace the backs too?

Also, any recommendations on tyres?

Thanks

Took some nice shoots with my D750 :yahoo:

Hey, SmurfS3, are you still stock? If so, did you notice any difference with the CTS Turbo inlet pipe? i.e is it worth it?

Yes. No software yet. I haven’t really gotten on it so I can’t tell. It’s really easy to install and I bought it on sale for about $70 so no complaints. I’ll have to report back. The tank is still full of 91 from out of state where I bought the car. Trying to burn that and refill with 93 that we have here in Michigan .

You will notice a difference, I put one of these on around 3 years ago and was great until I went stage 2 and it started failing. Again they my be better now to when I got mine as they were made to order on here as a group buy.

plastic?? The CTS one is aluminum and made really well. Looking forward to going stage 2 but not looking forward to making the car any louder inside. I put APR stage 1 on my wifes MK7 GTI and love it. Other than an air filter its stock and perfect. I know the 2.0t motors really drone depending on exhaust. My car already has the resonator delete option.

Got the S3 in for Haldex and S-Tronic oil changes today, the independent garage has just sent me photos of the filter for the Haldex 'before and after'... this is after 20k miles! Audi's claim to change the Haldex oil after 40k is a bit optimistic in my opinion. Also having the BCS res-delete removed because I find it too droney on the motorway under part load, I'll miss it from a 'spirited' driving point of view, but probably save up for a cat-back later in the year. So if anyone wants a BCS res delete thats done 13k miles, drop me a PM.

Audi called me today re servicing, advised the following

Haldex every 3 years rather than mileage
Sparks at 40,000 miles

Never seems to be the same message.

Humm... oddly the all wheel drive isn't working now, so it's back to the garage to see what's amiss. It was fine when I dropped it off, now I've got the ESP light flashing at me if I go near the throttle. Annoying.

You won't notice a difference, I'm in the same boat, replacing the front Audi AO continentals with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 since after a bit of research they seemed to be preferred as they are more efficient, quieter and grippier in the wet.

I can vouch for the Goodyears, I've driven them one season and so far I'm happy with the grip, noise and performance in the wet.

Anybody know if the FL S3 / S-Line rear diffuser fits the Pre-FL 8V S-Line bumper?

So, the S3 is with the dealers again to get my alloy repair and sort out why she's suddenly become FWD...

I have been given... *drumroll* a 2019 Q3 35TFSI S-Line. Other than the weedy engine and lack of Quattro, it is a awesome car. I will seriously be considering one when the time comes to change in a few years. I'll get some pictures up at some point as I've got it for nearly a week!

Anyone know how much a new door costs? :crying:
One month old car and someone managed to damage my passengers side door at the office car park. Luckily the person has come forward and said he'll pay for it but still =/

Definitely a new door and not repairable?

you can never really repair a door properly. you will see the repair. When they hear the cost they will want to go through insurance.

Doesn't look repairable. I spoke to Audi ealier and will be taking the car in next week for them to take a look.
What's the ballpark cost of a new door, anyone know? I don't mind how he pays for it I just dont want my insurance company involved.
