A4 B7 Stereo ugrade?

Ok guys

So I would like to upgrade my stereo from this

To something with bluetooth and an upgraded sat nav. Ideally I would like to keep to a standard unit. But I think I have options. I also do have an android unit in my old car that I will be taking out and re installing the original unit. But its a little clunky. takes a while to start and constant updates, plus it will take the car away from standard a bit too far.

I agree its a great unit. But i really need to connect my phone for spotify and answering the phone. I have a seen thread on here where someone haf bought a unit from ebay which does everything i need. Just sadly the item isnt for sale anymore, well inder the reference number it states.

I have the basic double din cd changer crap unit. i wanted to go nav, but then realised that if I go somewhere, I just pre-check the route and off I go. I am generally good with directions.
I then settled on an Alpine 178BT unit. I did not wnat to settle for anything less than an Alpine, and it had to have handsfree which this does. I am then just adding a 4ch and mono with Infiiniti 10" sub.

I have an Android unit in mine, its all touchscreen, not a clue what its called as the previous owner installed it.. can get all the apps you can get on your phone.. bluetooth, spotify, google maps, youtube the lot. Its a great bit of kit.

I have fitted this Kenwood DMX7017 dab it’s got apple CarPlay and Android auto awesome bit of kit purchased from Halfords it was a deal back last year.

Another vote for Kenwood... I looked into various options, Pioneer, Alpine etc. The Kenwood unit offered the best features and audio reproduction for the money. I’ve owned many high end headunits in the past and I’m very impressed with this one (DNX8160DABS)

Definitely a good idea to do, will modernise the interior a bit. Everyone hypes about the RSN-E system, but realistically it's a ****** bit of old technology and well worth replacing. Sell it as people will pay good money for it.

I used a connects2 harness and steering wheel stalk adapter to retain the steering wheel controls, happy to link if needed. I had a Kenwood double DIN but sent it back as it interfered with too much with the lights when they were on and gave an annoying feedback sound.

Yeah anyone got the correct fitting kit sets product codes... wanting to fit a kenwood double din with DAB with steering wheel controls... what kits do I need to replace the old trusty rnse.. also because mines a dvd monitor I have the separate module for sat nav not built in as when I bought it they didnt do built in dab and nav only separate.

Also does anyone have a good solution to replace the underpowered non Bose subwoofer and maybe dash speaker... alread replace the door speakers with kenwood kfc-x173's
