My 2010 S4 avant

Yeah I know what you mean, this car would have been circa £75k I think when new as it is spec’d... it feels like a much more expensive car than the Audi did as well to be fair. I paid £26k for this one and that seems about the going amount, it has approx 25k miles and basically feels brand new. The V8 noise at low revs under half throttle is worth the price of entry!

£25k is very decent money for what you get. And the low mileage is even a bonus. Welldone once again mate

I agree, that does seem a good deal, especially for only 25k miles.

It was by far the cheapest car in the garage that I bought it from as well, they had a lambo huracan performante in there and a 650S as well as a 911 GTS... so it was worth buying it to sit in a couple of them haha

"Irk" is a bit strong. I just see it too many times...

What's the rear diff like in these newer models? I heard the older ones are plagued by issues. I looked at getting one a few years ago but that put me off tbh

I haven’t read much about issues with the facelift, they are electrically actuated and I believe there can be a fault with them but I seem to remember it didn’t look like it would cost the earth to fix... if you look hard enough every car has its issues but these from most of what I have read are supposed to be pretty good relatability wise! The over all score the JLR group is bad because of land rover and Range Rover products, fingers crossed these are supposed to be pretty reliable!

Took the car out for its first proper run on some decent country 'A' roads and wow... I have never been in anything like it for pure overtaking ability, With the car in dynamic mode and the gearbox in sport or on the paddles the thing just fly's! The torque is the main thing it just surges and the engine takes on a much harder note as you wind it on, Its a real dual personality car as when you are getting after it in this manner the car feels much more wieldy and grippy and agile but then when you are just crusing around at less that mach 2 the car is quiet and comfortable.

Another thing that I hav noticed is how smooth the ZF 8 speed is but also how quick to respond it is, Having come from an S-tronic gearbox that was remapped the shift speed going up the box doesn't seem all that much slower if at all really and the gearbox is more intelligent than the s-tronic was meaning that theres less of a pause whilst the correct gear is selected for overtaking etc. The only time that the box is noticeably slower than the dual clutch is on downshifts, the s-tronic used to downshift quicker but also more abruptly than the ZF seems to.. So where the ZF is a bit softer/slower on the downshift it also unsettles the car a lot less as it seems to finesse the change a little more.

Anyway I will stop rambling now but just wanted to get this info down! haha

So I have now ordered a spires stage 2 exhaust for the car so expect a video of that at somepoint next week! But if anyone is interested at all just give it a google and have a listen!

Just had the spires stage 2 exhaust fitted this afternoon, so far it’s terrible for fuel economy but quite excellent for my ears!

I will have to give it a couple of hundred miles to bed in before seeing what it’s really like but it already sounds like it has unleashed the potential of the engine vocally.

Anyway here’s a short clip, I will get a better one at some point soon and a comparison video.

Cheers!

Awesome! Is your system a cat back or over the axle exhaust? I’m currently running AWE track. Thanks!

It’s just backboxes or probably axle back I would say on the XFR

Lovely Jag it’s some upgrade! Slightly random question this, but you weren’t on the Mini forums a few years back with a black Cooper S? I’m only asking as I came from the Mini background and vaguely remember a chap with a similar username to yourself?

No that wasn’t me, it’s one car I haven’t owned to be fair.

Thanks for the comment though it really is a beast!
