PFL to FL Dynamic Taillights conversion guide

Well I have tried this and whatever way I use pin 6 on the outer wether it’s supply to the inner or joined it still gets out of sync over time when running. Where exactly did you connect pin 6? I don’t suppose @DJAlix is feeling generous today?

Sorry guys. I am desperate to help but I just cannot give away a professional advantage that took both time and investment to gain.

Despite changing the wiring my indicator is still getting out of sync when the car is running. If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Danny do you have a sportback or a limo? Did you try the buck converter?

Haven’t had a chance yet. It’s a sportback mate.

All I can think is since it’s a halogen car there is some difference to the supply as the led cars seem to work fine. If that’s to do with coding I don’t know.

It works fine when car is off so only variable I can see is the voltage.. if that’s on the dynamic power or indicator signal I’m again not sure.

Its not voltage the problem
Its the bcm. Sportback cars with factory led uas other pinout for turn signals from bcm.
This is the problem.
Danny check out the pins in bcm.
Tell me the tail lights turn signals in which pins are connected to BCM
Then we will compare yours with mine

Update... still struggling with this Alex seems too busy and his online coding isn’t up and running yet. I have tried everything to do with wiring that I can find. Is there anyone with suggestions regarding the out of sync problem going from halogen to dynamic? Does anyone have a map of the 09 module from led car they could send me?

Online coding is up and running, I need to test a solution that allows me to help you without giving away my professional advantage. Time is hard to find as I am almost fully booked. If you would like to investigate other solutions then let me know so I can cross this off my list.

I have collected all connectors nedded and waiting the dynamic lights from DPD....:yahoo:

Hey all
I need your help, I have managed to source the one set of plugs, but am really struggling to get Part number 4B0 971 636

Any help appreciated?

Thanks

I have some that will work, I assume you are converting the sedan not sportback?

Sportback, but I am not sure if they use the same connector ?

I have managed to find quite alot of suppliers for the one plug and purchased some, but the Part number 4B0 971 636 is alluding me.

I have come close to buying that very expensive kit from Ze Germans, K Elektronic, but held back.

I have a harness I made up for the sedan. If the connectors are the same I can send you some. You can see if they will work for you.

Thanks :)

They look perfect to me, do you make the harnesses to sell?

Whats the number on the plug?

Drop me a private message on how much you are looking for?

Thank you

I can make one for you if you like.
Sent you a PM

Hi! Amazing explanation!!!! I have an AUDI A3, SEDAN 2019 with halogen lights, and I want to change them for LED lights, I was told to buy these parts: 8V5945093D, 8V5945044D, 8V5945091 and 8V5945092. Is this correct? Do I have to change other things like wiring or connectors, or coding?

I need to know what do I have to buy and then give all the parts to the mechanic and ask him to chage them.

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!

Sol

are these instructions for the pre fl led tailights to facelift led tailights?

that's what I'm trying to do at the moment

can someone let me know what the wires in the pre fl plugs (outer and inner) are I'm having trouble following those diagrams...

like for example if I can get

outer own plug

pin 1 = ground
pin 2 = break light

would help alot

cant seem to find the inner tail light connectors, part number 4b0971636. Where are people getting these from?

Everything you need is already in this thread, I honestly don't know what more to tell you but this is a picture for easier understanding? As for the connector, if you can't find it online then just order it from your dealer..

Hi, I'm doing the facelift rear dynamic light conversion as I type this message

I don't understand how to read wiring diagrams, but I have the facelift plugs and some wiring where the breaker that I bought the lights from chopped some wiring off the car for me to make it easier

I'm doing the outer lights at the moment, it's a Sedan 2016 model and I'm facelifting the lights to 2017+ model.

The PFL have 5 wires going into each

Nearside left outer
1-blue/white
2-yellow/blue
3-blue
4-red/brown
5-brown

Offside right outer
1-red/green
2-purple/brown
3-green/brown
4-brown/red
5-brown

FL have 6 wires

Nearside left outer-
1-brown
2-blue/white
3-blue
4-yellow/blue
5-white/blue
6-red/brown

Offside right outer-
1-brown
2-green/red
3-green/brown
4-purple/brown
5-grey/blue
6-red/brown

What do I do with these wires? Could I just keep the original plugs on the FL lights as the breaker left a fair amount of wiring on for me, and chop the original ones and exchange the wires over. It would be good to know which wire to change to which then it's a simple job of just cut, join and tape instead of repinning?

Ok I have completed this mod today

It’s fairly straight forward if you’ve got a cut plug and some wiring from the facelift car

Thanks for the write up and thanks for the follow up messages.

also did you guys remove the bumper to run the wires?

@LT5PLA this is a really simple mod, everything you need or asked is already answered in the original post, there's nothing wrong to just go trial and error it, nothing is gonna explode if you have the wrong wire, it's just different light will lights up that's all...

i get the re-pining and all that but just curious to know how people ran the 12v from tailight inside the trunk and then the outer tailight wire to the inner

The wire can be run from the boot side panels on the left hand side, and then through the rubber grommet in the boot where the OEM wiring loom runs. Very straightforward.

Just like to say thanks to the OP . Used the guides above making my own harness so no cutting up or repinning of original harness .

anyone have the part numbers for the outter fl tailights covers.. the ore fl covers don't fit the new lights
