Anyone know what car this VC is from?

Good morning,

Just wondering if anyone knows what car this is from? It was in the Audi Q2 part of the Instagram Hashtags but I can't get mine to look like this. Wondering if it is A3? Also, Does the A3 have Streetview? would love to get this on the Q2 but for some reason, it isn't a feature. I thought most parts were shared between A3 & Q2.

This is not related to the virtual cockpit nor Google maps. It's an old technology but I think it's only in selected (larger) cities you can do this.

Looks like an A3 to me. With the standard map (not Google) zoomed in as far as possible whilst in a city (so it shows the 3D image).

Yeah I reckon it is this, I was in Newcastle at the weekend and although I didn’t have maps in the full screen view like the photo above, I was zoomed in quite far on 1/3 of the screen and it did look 3D like the above.

Also pretty sure it’s an A3 as the A5 + Q5 etc have a different layout for the fuel and temperature gauges if I’m not mistaken.

Nice! cheers for that! you are more of a detective than me!! Hashtags are always wrong and I hadn't seen my VC like that before so wondered what was going on...

A3 range and Q2 range both use the exact same part number VC. If you go in with VCDS or alike you can actually change your A3 graphics to display Q2 images etc.

Never seen the view detailed above. Am guessing it was a concept or something that never made it in to production.

Thanks @DJAlix for the info. Bearing this in mind, can the Q2 VC be modified to show streetview? Audi specifies that the A3 has this.

StreetView is only available via the MMI screen for all vehicles with a central screen (with MMI units that support street view that is). TT and R8 vehicles might be different as they don't have an MMI screen but I have never tested.

Sorry mate but im not following! Central screen? as in the MMI screen on the A3 that folds away? my Q2 has this and the tech pack (bigger 8inch screen) so if it is the same software then presumably it is programmable to have streetview if the A3 does?

Street View = MMI screen only, which is located in the centre of your dashboard. Street View cannot be viewed via the VC in an A3 or Q2.

If your Q2 does not have Street View but does have Audi connect then there is coding that can be completed in order to try and activate street view however this is something I have not had reason to test.

Awesome thanks @DJAlix. Yep got Audi Connect. Might book her in with you for the start of April as i would like a rearview view camera installed too

Great! Living abroad makes you realise how good services in the UK are, especially services like what you provide! I remember talking to you in another thread ages ago about retrofitting services in Portugal and so on being non-existent. Iv since moved to Switzerland and it's even worse! Nothing like what you offer over there! Audi want 3300 for a rearview camera! I'm coming back to the UK for Easter so will let you know.
