I'm thinking of painting my brake calipers this weekend, but unsure what colour to go for. The car is Misano Red and I have Rotors. I've ruled out silver because it will just get manky after a while.

I was thinking red but I'm not sure if it will all look too red because the car is red (if that makes sense?)

What colour do you reckon I should do them? I'll probably paint the hubs whilst i'm in there

Not a good picture of mine.

I'd also go black :)

Got them off eBay in a pack of 3 different sizes..used larger ones on front and smaller on the back.

Yea I agree, I think black is a great choice! :) I have since added some white Audi rings!

Cheers, I'm going to get some white quattro decals too, just need to check the size of the rear caliper to make sure the decal will fit on there.

@alpesh26 - Black calipers silver hubs for the win

@ruairi83 - Sepang blue? Black calipers all the way
But I may be (just a little) biased ;) lol

Agree with Hammerite gloss.
No need for High temp paint as I've used Hammerite for years with no probs.
Currently mine are blue on my Aruba blue A4 but next week I shall be changing this to Black also. :)

I'll be using hammerite too, had it on my B7 calipers and the paint was still fine when I part ex'd it (after 4 years)

I agree with BH, go with Black Ruairi! :)

I have the job of replacing my front brake discs and pads over the weekend, so I will need to paint the hubs black again to match with my colour scheme! :) .. I have always used hammerite and like other members had no issues with it!

I managed to finish this job today and the Quattro decals arrived too. I probably should have waited for the hammerite to fully harden before sticking them on but I got excited haha. I did stick the Quattro decals on the back calipers as the decals were a bit big and it would have looked daft. Might see if the seller can make me some smaller ones.
I ended up painting the caliper clip on the front passenger side because when I tried to put it back on the drivers side it made a mess of the paint.
I used the clear lacquer that comes with the touch up paint, I'll see how it holds up, the decals weren't bank breaking so I can always re-do it.
Car needs a bath but its forecast thunderstorms up here tomorrow and rain most of next week so I'm not bothering.

So before I fitted my new Pagid discs and pads today, I painted the hubs black last night so that they would match once fitted!:) .. What a great day to get fitting also!:)

They looks very nice mate, did you paint with the calipers on or did you remove them first? I'm keen to paint my calipers but not so keen to remove them...

My A4 is Misano red and I have black wheels, so either red or black should work for me. Exactly what i want/need to freshen up that area of my car!

I painted them with the callipers on the car. You just need hammerite in your colour of choice and the decals if you want to fit them. Clean up the callipers before you paint too

Good to hear, saves that hassle.

What did you use to clean them up first, standard household cleaners or something specific?

I wonder if Autosol would do the job.

Thanks mate.

I ended up changing brakes to S4 set up and painting silver with hammerite while on bench. Also got new s4 cover pins @ £70 for pair. Almost cried.
