So I bought a ramair turbo inlet elbow and tried to fit it today... only to discover I got all the way then I couldn't push the stock air hose onto the new pipe. Just wouldn't go. Anyone who has fitted these had that problem?

I took it to my local mechanic who said the turbo inlet elbow does nothing as it's the same diameter hole going into the turbo... is this true?

Not trying to be the funny guy but the turbo inlet can’t be bigger than the hole in the turbo. It would be pointless.
From my research all these inlet pipes from Ecs, ram air, turbo technic etc are creating a smoother air flow in theory making engine more efficient and responsive. The Audi one is tapered and has a not so smooth bend in it which will create a restriction and turbulent air flow.
I doubt they will make much extra power but it should help efficiency and responsiveness.

Well that was what I thought. But this mechanic, who was a bit of an idiot tbh, was like no it won't make any difference to the car. Plus he took nearly an hour to fit the turbo inlet elbow which i know is only a 20 min job.

Aren't there proven gains and dyno readouts on here somewhere? That's why I bought it, but I can't find them anymore. I still have the stock airbox.

I had this issue with the Forge version. I put some lubrication on the OEM hose end of the turbo inlet pipe which helped it go on but it was still tight!
