New footrest available

Hi all,

As there’s nothing available for RHD cars in terms of a dead pedal footrest, I’ve been speaking to a fabricator and he’s advised he can offer the following attached product below for £22 delivered. Just gauging interest! Let me know if you’d like one.

I’ve used double sided tape in the past and it’s been absolutely fine. Or just use gorilla glue, that also works fine!

It’s half and half I think, I’m not 100% sure whether I’d stick with it but it’s worth a try as it could enhance the pedal box quite a lot to match the finish on the pedals.

It needs to be of a brushed effect and not high chrome / stainless to tie in.

"Hey! Thanks for the interest I will have some available in approximately 7 days they are precision laser cut stainless steel with a brushed finish supplied with double sided tape."

Sound like good quality.

The ones i fitted were made by a lad on a golf GTI forum i used when i had them. He made two sorts,one stick on like this the other type was fitted by drilling & fixing with stainless steel hex screws/bolts?. I fitted mine this way, easy enough to remove the foot rest to do & once fitted never came off.

That Gorilla glue is dangerous stuff, don't put to much on as it expands !!

Would suggest Gorilla tape, then its going nowhere.

How’s this going to work when you’ve got final numbers... are we to transfer yourself the £22 and pass on postage address etc? Do you have an idea when the first so many will be ready to go? cheers

They come with double sided foam tape which is very secure but can also be removed without damage.

I have been designing and making items like this for a few years now and pride myself on quality at a fair price.

Its a pity that this cover by OSIR couldn't be replicated, very OEM and had it on my G7R, but unfortunately doesn't quite fit the RS. I still have it and its for sale, fits the S3 !!! (classifieds)

Yes, cost me £80 a few years back but a quality item (just sold it by the way)

I'm glad that some R.H.D models now come with the alloy cluth/ dead pedal rest as standard. My SQ5 has it & the new RS4 also comes with one.
