A question for those with experience of multi-mode ECU maps.
I was planning on a new remap in January on my tfsi but thinking maybe a good solution would be to get a multi-mode ecu map , if such a things exists for these engine that is.
A lot of other cars can run multiple maps and just switch them from a dash switch or button, maybe an eco mode, standard and performance map setup, that way it's a win win situation for daily use or a somewhat more driver orientated experience.....

Any thoughts on this and what's out there to fit the task .

cheers
rob

Off the top of my head Bill at Badger 5 does them plus I think Unicorn and most good tuners, from my experience the car just stays in race/sport... One of my friends used to keep his S3 in an economy map and I thought that was a bit daft, really the type of car and right foot will more determine economy/performance.

Hey Rob,

APR do a multi mode map I’ve been looking into - it’s damn pricey though. You’ll need cruise fitted for the selection of different maps on that one.

I’d be interested to see what this thread churns up. Love the idea of a ‘full beans mode’ and then one for normal driving.

This was the response I got for enquiring with S-line automotive in Ashford

“Morning Bob,

The cost o0f the APR software with the discount is £508.98 inc vat.

We have done quite a few A4 of different types and they all perform well.

With regards to the map switching it is available on most ECU’s but until we plug the car in we can really tell. You also require cruise control for this or need to get the APR dongle that plugs in the diagnostic port.

All the information regarding the upgrade can be found on this page:-

If you have any further question or wish to book your car in please feel free to contact me.”

You’re probably already aware of this one though.

that looks ideal, i'd need CC fitting though as my old bus doesnt have it.

Definitely don't need cruise control to switch maps or an APR dongle... well I guess it depends what the tuner wants you to have/buy really but it's allot more simple than that...

Im sure Revo do these with an obd dongle, not sure if its more Ford orientated though...

I have revo 2+ with an sps switch, which to be honest i dont change it much, power when needed and stay out of boost if not for bit of economy. An advantage on the sps is you buy a little cable, download the software and you can tweak the timing/fuel/boost setting which has been useful when i added meth.
Had the revo 2/3 years now, before that had a bluefin tune but wanted more
