S5 V6T

cheers arad85, took some persistence to get that out of them though. Took it out for the second time tonight, go to say....what a machine!

And not even tuned yet.. +50% performance is hard to pass... ;)

Got this response from AUDI...

I have spoken to the workshop controller & according to the records you have the latest gearbox we would now order. So that would make it the last revision. I can supply you with the part number if that helps - 0B530070580N001

Too many digits. Should be 0B5 300 xxx N 001

Think it is already tuned as previous owner said he put a map on it

Yea quantum map running about 400, also has both resonators removed. It does sound well. Quite on motorway and at low speeds but sounds like an animal with your foot down.

My S5 sounds like an animal when I put my foot down. I still need to remind myself that it's FAKE sound!!! :(

S5 has a soundaktor which is a weight mounted on the wall between engine bay and main cabin which is vibrated based on load/acceleration to make more noise inside. It is common practice to have one of these on performance cars where the need to make the driver feel like they are driving a track car is balanced with the need to be acoustically environmentally friendly to those on the outside.

Those of us who want our neighbours to share in the delight of a powerful car ripping it get an after market exhaust.

Cheers arad85, I understand a lot of cars have this and tbh I’m not a fan. People have commented on mine being loud and although I haven’t had it on a ramp yet, I believe mine has had the resonators removed so may be slightly louder than standard.

Mine also has the fuse removed so it no longer contributes to the noise... This shows up as 2 "problems" when being scanned with VCDS but is easily reversible without having to go into VCDS...

Hmm, might try removing my fuse to see how much it does contribute

If you get OBDeleven you can code it out or just change the volume.

OBDeleven, need to look into this. Does this do fault codes aswell ?

Yes. It's very much like VCDS, full codeing and full scanning of all modules.

I've cleared faults, unlocked the green MMI screen menu, unlocked ambient lights, even did an adaptation to clear the fault after I updated the firmware.

It will also wind in the break calipers so I can do pads and discs myself.

Install it now from the playstore on an android device and start watching the adds to get free credits now so you have them ready for when it gets delivered. I have about 60 credits saved up now.

You only need credits to use the apps, if you pay for pro then you can do all the long coding for free the same as VCDS.

Lots of posts on OBDeleven and YouTube vids.

But well worth the £60 or so I paid.

And you can view your launch control count. Mine was at 0. Happy days.

@CharlieSAudi , can you tell me what work you carried out on the exhaust please. I don’t have that one anymore and have bought another one but miss the sound from yours ! Did you just cut out the resonators for a straight bit of pipe ? Didn’t get a chance to get it on a ramp.

Hi Tom, glad it's all going well still think it's quality a fellow member has her!
So center resonator I had replaced with a custom Xpipe and the two resonators replaced with straight pipes.
Originally was going to do the mufflers aswell, luckily I didn't lol as you know how loud it is already. I really do miss that sound.
Have you taken the air filter out of the box get?

Hi Charlie

Didn’t go well, I ended up backing the car back to the dealer. 2 days after purchase I noticed it was overfilled with oil after they supposedly gave it it service. After I got the car back after a couple of days I noticed severe rattling on cold start and it seemed to be constantly smoking from the exhaust even when up to temp. The rattle on cold start lasted at least 5 mins and everyone I showed said it was the timing chains. Dealer wasnt prepared to repair so they bought it back off me (long story, they wasn’t going to except rejection of the vehicle) Gutted to say the least as I loved the sound of it and really wanted a white one. I’m picking up another one on Saturday and need to get the sound on tho one as its got a totally standard exhaust and quite disappointing after yours lol !
