My Well Groomed A4

Car's looking very smart. Can I ask how easy the Ultimate Fast Finish was to use please. Currently I'm using Sonax BSD as a really quick sealant but something as easy to use but longer lasting would be good

Very, very easy to use, spray on one cloth apply, swipe on, buff off instantly with another.
No cure time – which is a bonus for me. Very quick.

If windy or even a slight breeze. Then don’t spray directly on the paint work. Due to being aerosol spray it will fly everywhere and you don’t want any near rubber etc.

Durability: Hard for me to say at the minute. I don’t expect to do what it says on the tin but with frequent applications I hope to get through the looming wet season with some protection.
So far, it’s had 3 applications after my regular wash routine. The car is washed weekly (usually) so the real test would be to leave it longer to see how it performs.

But I maybe find that difficult.

So, give it a go, for £14 and have a least half bottle left, it is very good value. Recommended.

I think it would be good to add some protection to the crime exhaust tips, they look good. I will try the bar keepers friend on mine. I have also used BKF on my white UPVC window frames, it brought them up a treat & finished off with some Carlack for protection

Car has been used daily and rained on a few days and from a distance it still looks okay.

Or is it just Daytona which hides it well?

Noticed on close up the water spotting is alot lighter than using reload.

Neglected the engine bay, so today had a wipe down with BH surfex hd diluted mix.
Brought it back up cleaner.

Poor thing not been washed for weeks now due to this cold and wetter weather. With all the protection it has had on, it's paying off a bit and is still beading, just less cleaning.

Not washed for weeks now also, car looking a right mess.
Got the Spear & Jackson Pump sprayer out, topped up with a prewash cocktail of BH surfex HD and Angelwax cleaniness.

Had to go around car twice and used all the 5l mix up. Followed by a BH auto wash and left it to drip dry.

It was nice to see it had some protection and shine left hidden beneath all that grime, dirt and neglect. Best it's going to get this time of year.

Natties is a good wax - they do also Natty's black for darker cars which I tried and it is marginally better than Blue. A new formula they say hence a few £ dealer or maybe just hype. Moonlight Blue has a really hint of black in strong sunlight.

When out and about collect some plastic knives - useful to put the paste on the DA Pad.

Thanks, that is a great idea, I was wondering what is the best way to apply the paste to pads.

Going to wait until the weather warms up a bit.

Few of my Cleaning products are now nearly empty and are heading for the bin.

So any good and l buy them again?

Carpro reload - quality product, very virstatile, great on its own it leaves impressive glossy finish with great beading. Can also dilute it and mix with other quick detailing sprays.
Use sparingly will last a year to use up.

Results 8.5/10

Buy it again? Yes (eventually to many others to try first)

AutoGlym interior shampoo - Not the best for the dashboard, trims and plastic. But seems better suited for the carpets, seat fabric and cloth headlining.

Results 6/10

Buy it again? No

MEGS ultimate compound polish - This is a great polish which really improved my paint, give it a deep gloss and eliminated fine swirling. It was the first polish used with a DA and for a beginner l felt comfortable using this compound with the DA machine for the first time.

Results 8.5/10

Buy it again? Yes (others to try first)

MEGS ultimate liquid wax - Give okay results but did not blow me away and was expecting better for the price. This wax has been demoted just to be used up on the sills and lower trims, small areas of the car where the DA can't get to. Not worthy for the larger areas of the body work.

Results 5/10

Buy it again? No

Angelwax QED detailing spray - another very good QD which goes on very easily and leaves a good shine. This lasted me a long time due to mixing it up with reload. Two combined worked well. Even added water to mix in another spray bottle which l kept in the boot for emergency use for bird bliz bombing.

Results 8/10

Buy it again? Yes


Angelwax bilberry wheel sealant - Alloys sealed with this in May last year. Seemed easy enough to clean after applying but around every week the wheels are cleaned to keep on top of them anyway. Gyeon wet, Carpro Hydro lite etc etc are the easiest wheel sealants you can apply. ....

Concur on the Angelwax, Reload & Autoglymn products

Talking about wheel sealants, my recommend is Planet Polish Wheel Seal & Shine
Easy to apply, decent durability, great VFM & the bottle last ages
I've been using it for the last 10 years & wouldn't use anything else
I get around 6 month durability in the winter from 3 coats, applied 20 mins apart

Tried out the shark car detail kit so l can clean the car with a shark vacuum cleaner.

Some of the attachments are a waste of time and will never use them, only needed the flexibility of the hose and the small brush at the end which slides up to reveal a crevice tool.

This was enough to vacuum the car seats, vents, tight gaps and hard to reach places.
