PRNDS Flashing and EM light too, just happened!
Stops when restart car, happens as soon as it goes into Drive. Stuck in limp at 20mph, however, put into neutral, let revs die down and then put back into drive, it kicks up a couple gears into third, and i can get upto about 50, it drives fine from there, but doesnt change gear
Wont change from paddles for gears, and wont go back into reverse either (either straight into reverse, or up into park and the reverse. But will go into reverse when i restart car

Service has flashed up due aswell. Couldnt be the car throwing a hissy fit to get serviced could it?

It’s been driving perfect up until happening today
No recalls or anything outstanding is there?

It’s my first Audi and only had it 6 weeks. I’m hoping the garage i bought it from will give me some grace on the warranty, as apparently it only has a month, but they’r good local guys

Any help would be appreciated. I’m not very mechanically minded either!

Tah

My advice would be to see if the nice guys would do a scan for you and see what the results are first plus to see if there really that nice guys that they may extend your warranty and if not then you have something to go by as it could be a multitude off probs .

If you bought the car from a business the you have 6 months under consumer guarantees.

This unfortunately sounds like a problem with the mechatronics unit on the gearbox. Hopefully the garage will cover the repair because otherwise I believe it’s an expensive 2k plus job.

Google mechatronics failure and you’ll probably have most of the symptoms. It gets so bad that it will not even go into gear at all. Good luck and hopefully you get it sorted mate

Mechatronic units are easily repairable these days... £250 max at ECU testing

Yes but you’ve got to get the ****** out first and then refit it

Well, that goes without saying, but still cheaper then buying a new mechatronics unit, which is what most suggest. I paid around 400 for the removal/refit plus 100 for repair of the unit.
