Hi I have got some 18" RS8 alloys at the mo but am tempted to go for the same in 19" they are about £800 on wheelbase with toyo tyres.

Will they rub on the arches at all? whats the correct offset/tyre size i need?

Also ive always gone for goodyear eagle f1 gsd3 tyres but im being told these are being phased out now? are the asymmetric eagles as good?

No bud, you'll have no issues with 19", mines lowered and running a low offset on 19" and doesn't rub. They'll probably be et35 so ideally you'll want spacers, 10mm front and 15mm back should be good.

I see from your sig you have FSD's, have you got different springs too?

Cheers mate. Do i have to have spacers can they not just be a different offset?

I got the koni fsd kit with springs i think a 25-30mm drop but it was a while ago now so i cant quite remember....

No you don't need the spacers, you can get the wheels then put them on at a later date if you wanted, et35 is normally what reps come in and because the S3 has the chunky arches they look nicer with the wheels around an et20, it'll compliment your stance a little more

just fitted my 19s tonight no rubbing what so ever :jump:

will put pics up shortly mate, cars ok has no front bumper as ive just done the fmic got my adapters today so thought id fit them and take it round the block, see what it like and i didnt feel much difference in ride to the 18s

Nice one. Do i need longer bolts with spacers?

sandip, what width are your rims mate, i got 19x8j et35 with spacers and i get a small amount of rub on full lock and on a up/down road at speed i get rub, i got standard suspension by the way, not lowered

Ive previously run the Goodyear F1 GSD3 (245/35/19) on a big RWD V8 and they were great.

I'm now running the Asymmetrics and overall they are better, plus they are virtually unbeatable in the wet

whereabouts do you get wheels that are 5x100 with lower that 35mm offsets? BBS offer some but there dont seem to mbe much else around (unfortunately cant use spacers, they are illegal here!)

For reference, heres a great website which show how much clearance changes when you change rim width, offset etc

Mine are 8.5j on the 19's, running 235 35 19 and et28. Mine's lowered so i do get a very small amount of rub on full lock at funny angles, it doesn't on speed bumps though.
I reckon if you get 10mm spacers and it'll stopping rubbing, it'll look sweet too:)

It depends what kind off wheel your after, there are some that i was going get called Tenzo R, they are light weight and they make the lower offset in 5x100, perfect for you guys down under:)

I was looking at buying some 19" RS4 Style wheels, they are 235/35 on the front and 245/35 on the rear with ET42 and 19x8j, would these fit on my 2002 S3? Thanks :)

You need ET35 minimum on the front to clear the strut with 235s, and running the wider rears will confuse your 4wd/haldex.
