Anyone know if these can be replaced independently of the boot floor? Someone kindly snapped the spring return mechanism on mine.

I'd trust that once you get the new one in your hands it will become apparent, that is the way I tend to approach some of these situations!
Yeah but I'm an idiot with fat fingers! :D

@scotty76, by unhappy chance, mine broke today so I've ordered a replacement.

But I'm wondering the same thing as you; so how did you get the old one out and the new one in?
Sorry Jeff. I'm getting the train at the moment so haven't got round to it. S4 is parked up. :(

But do enlighten me when you've had a go. :D

I think I've found the answer; it's in two parts, and they clip together from either side of the mat.

Just fixed mine today.
The pin that runs through the middle had popped out of it's securing holes.
The spring was ok, so proceeded as follows.
If you look underneath the latch, on the underside there is an outer bracket.
Carefully start praying this away from the bottom right corner as it has a locating tab that you need for reinstalling so be careful.
I used a house butter knife and started working my way around clock wise until all the plastic tangs were just about free, then pushed the middle out using a quick thump.
This released the 2 parts.
Once seperated, I was able to sit the spring in untensioned, and slide the pin through nice and even through the middle of the spring.
Then attach the spring.
The spring attachment is the most fiddly.
I used a 1.5mm ball end Allen key to latch the part that goes into the floor area first, then the other end of the spring can be eased into place on the hook.
Sorry if this sounds all mumbo jumbo as I didn't take pics, but if you are tackling this my instructions should make sense.
So yeah, saved me 20 odd quid
