New Audi A5/S5 picture thread

Its a known fault or trait sadly and one that Audi recognise. You do get used to it though - not that you should have to to I suppose.

Glad your enjoying it!

Thanks Simon.
The pipes on either side satisfies my joy of symmetry :) That was one thing I did get the metal polish out for!

The car is great, I'm still getting used to the size coming from a BMW Z4. Definitely appreciating how much the tech has come on in 14 years.

My only snag is the lag in starting off, I have to keep it in Dynamic and Sport mode but it still seems to hesitate from the off. Any other tricks?

Took her to her last show of the summer yesterday, stole all the attention away from the actual Audi dealership that was there! xD

Hey there,

Just recently picked up my new A5 S-Line after trading in my Vegas S3. Got a stock car with a decent discount so no options, was an attempt at being a grown-up and saving on the monthlies. Loving it so far.

Looks good in white @Psyman79
How does it compare the S3. I have just come from an S3 but unsure what to get next, I have enquired about a test drive in a A5 20tfsi.

Thank you, yeah, really like them in white which is just as well as there weren't many options with it being a stock car.
The S3 was a lovely car but was totally unnecessary for my needs and was trying to save a wee bit of money. Main thing is getting used to the power and traction reduction. My wife has the same engine in her Leon so it's not been a complete shock losing 160bhp.
It's a much smoother ride and a comfier place to be alround really.
It is a little tight getting in the back but the boot is massive so if people complain they can just go in there

Si :)

Cheers mate. Waiting for a call back on Monday regarding test drive and price. Had a go in a diesel but heard good things about the 2.0tfsi, I've took a screen shot for "ammo" and hopefully a deal can be done.

Ok, you do realise you'd need to do some own work in making sure a ceramic coat lasts five years though. I tend to apply bouncers done&dusted quick detailer every so often, or a Gyeon alternative, or a wet vax for a quick protection...

Finally got the car back seal and protect did a get job of new car prep as Audi wasn’t the best.

Curious, what's the point in covering up the number plate ?

You realize that it doesn't stop people from just looking at the plate when outside, right ?

Whatever, it's up to you, personally I blank mine out as I prefer to reduce the risk of someone just doing it from the comfort of their house...

I was unsure at first with the colour, it was between Suba Blue and Daytona but very happy I picked the grey, overall had the car one week now and the reaction from people has been very positive. Finally installed my dash cam today and took the car for a wash, its still miserable weather here but heres a picture from the front.

I had the Autoglym Lifeshine service thrown into the deal, once it starts to wear off I will go for the Gtechniq stuff, so far the Autoglym seems to be ok.

That looks beautiful. I’m happier with my Daytona Gray Pearl choice. I’ll likely opt for a full PPF wrap. Our roads are brutal, and folks in parking lots take out their frustrations on nice cars - leading to door dings and such.

Having had both a Nav Blue and Daytona Grey S5, Daytona takes the prize for me. You do see alot of the colour around but it does look very different if the car has been properly detailed. The Nav Blue S5 definitely turned more heads but in hindsight that isnt always a good thing!
Manhattan Grey is also a nice colour and the SB I had suited it really well.
