Hi there I picked up my Ibis White B8 Avant 2.0 TDI 170 S Line Executive the other month it’s a nice upgrade from my previous Seat Exeo ST (Snidey A4 B7). The Exeo had the 140bhp engine so the A4 is a nice power increase but still economical enough. I’ve always being into German cars previously owned 3 Mini Cooper S’s (2 hatches, 1 Clubman) , a polo TDi briefly for a daily and the SEAT which was a rebadged A4 B7.

It has lots of extras including full heated leather, B&O, Sat Nav, Black Pack, Electric Seats, Electric Tailgate, RS4 19’s, Mulimedia package, Park Plus, Technology pack, comfort pack, Adaptive Lights with High Beam Assist.

The chap had owned the car from new and has only covered 55k so should do us for some time! So far Ive had the cambelt & waterpump changed along with a service at my local VAG specialist (VASSTECH) using all genuine parts. I’ve also fitted a Carbox boot liner which was a must for us as a pram spends the majority of the time in there. My dad had his Genuine cup holder ashtray left over from his A3 so I’ve pilfered it :)

Future plans:
  • New discs & pads
  • Replace rear tyres
  • And just enjoy the car and get some miles covered!!

Pics to follow once I’ve worked out how to use this resize app I’ve downloaded:)

Nice car, suggestion, de-badge the rear, add black rings. This mod makes the back of the car look a lot nicer, especially when it's a Black Ed.

Thanks, Ive been considering debadging tbe rear unsure on the black badges but could leave the ring badge on for now and possibly change at a later date. It’s not actually a black edition this car but has been specced like one with a few more toys. I originally wanted a black edition but couldn’t get my head around no mmi buttons around the centre console it looks naked with out :)

Looks like a Black Ed. black gloss interior door inlays etc. only thing that seems to be missing is a Flat Bottom steering wheel.

De-badged with Black rings looks really good, but it's your car mate, de-badged with silver rings looks good too.

Yeah it’s an odd one it’s a S Line Excecutive Spec but the original owner specced the Black pack etc. I’ve got the original invoice which with all the extras was just short of 34k! Can the black badges be purchased or do the original ones require spraying?

Seems like you got yourself a good one with plenty of options fitted. :thumbs up:

You can get the black rings on ebay, just make sure you get the same size as original one, a lot are smaller. I got the one for an A8, I think.......

Picked up some bargain brand new Genuine rubber mats F&R for £30 on eBay they were only 20 miles down the road as well!

Also it’s taken me a couple of months to realise this, when cleaning today I came across the first aid kit behind the armrest. Was this a standard thing on the B8?

Nice car you have there...Not sure if you would be interested, but I have the same make/model and got a company called Celtic tuning to re-map the 170bhp engine up to a healthy 230! with a similar rise in torque. Cost was £300. As this was there stage 1 re-map, it will work well with all standard components too!

Thanks Geoff, that’s an impressive gain! I was imagining 200-210 max, I’m quite happy with the power for now but I will never rule out a remap

Gave the Avant a well deserved clay, polish and seal today ready for the coming months. Gave the Carbon collective hybrid spray a go for the first time, application is a simple as spray on leave for 2 mins then jetwash off vigorously to activate. Supposedly should last 3 months so time will tell but it’s so easy to use as you cover the full car including windows and wheels.

Also debadged the rear leaving the four rings and S Line badge. I know most leave only the four rings but I quite like the S Line badge.

Fitted B8.5 stone guards today it’s certainly tidied it up nicely and added the protection for winter. I followed the advice online of removing the plastic tabs which the facelift model uses and fitted some extra strong double sided tape.

MOT time tomorrow fingers crossed it keeps up its 100% record! After this due to a slight change in circumstances it will be going up for sale, the other half has started working closer to home so looking to switch to a petrol as our yearly mileage has significantly dropped. I would happily have a petrol B8 Avant but the TFSI engines just seem more hassle than what they are worth with the oil consumption issues and my budget will unfortunately not stretch to a S4.

So if anybody is looking for a high spec low mileage Avant in fantastic condition drop me a message.

Spec below:

2010 Audi A4 S Line Executive 2.0 TDI 170bhp Manual.
Previous Owners: 1
Colour: Ibis White
Mileage: 57500 (still in use so will rise slightly)
MOT: March 2019

Spec & Extras include:

*Full Black Milano leather Heated Electric Memory Seats (rare)

*19” 7 Arm RS4 alloys with Dunlop Sportmax tyres all round.

*Technology Pack

*Comfort Pack

*Sat Nav

*Audi MMI with Jukebox Hard Drive, SD slots & DVD player

*Bluetooth telephone preparation with voice control.

*Bang & Olufsen

*DAB Radio

*Park Plus (front & rear sensors)

*Adaptive Lights

*Black Styling Pack (grill, window trim, gloss black dash inserts, black headlining, roof bars, privacy glass)

*Power Operated Tailgate (rare)

*High Beam Assist

*Plus the usual S Line extras including Climate control, Electric mirrors, Electric windows, cruise control, steering controls etc.

The overall spec for when the car was purchased new was 34k! (With invoice to prove)

Service History:
19,076 miles Audi Grimsby
27,380 Audi Grimsby
30,833 Audi Doncaster
51,254 Moorwell Servie Station
55,092 Vasstech (Cambelt & Waterpump & Full Service)

HPI Clear with report to prove.

Shame you have to sell. you only just got it. surely it's more cost effective to keep the car than take the depreciation AND buy another car with another set of depreciation? or are you worried the diesel will get ******** with all the the short journeys?

At the moment the cost of diesel and the MPG from short journeys is outweighing the benefits but having said that we usually cover some good mileage at the weekends. Luckily I feel I bought the car at the right price so hopefully shouldn’t loose much or any plus it being a well specced car will help. For now the plan is to try my luck selling and if nothings come of it I will happily keep it!

Haven’t updated my thread for a while as to be honest not a lot has changed bar deciding to keep the car as I soon realised there was nothing within my budget which compared to my A4. So I’ve just bought some Dunlop SportMaxx’s for the rear as the current ones are just about on the limit.

In other news the common front wing/sill corrosion/rust has always annoyed me since I bought the car especially since it’s white! So after reading a few threads online of owners going through Audi and claiming under the 10 year anti corrosion warranty most been unsuccessful I made an appointment with my local Audi to try my luck. The warranty chap took numerous photos and measured the paint depths and said he would be in touch.... A couple of weeks passed still nothing it took a couple of snotty emails to finally get a response. Audi have agreed to cover 70% of the cost of two new wings plus arch linings etc plus the respraying of sills and wings. And the dealership has kindly discounted it further and offered a free service for the delay. So overall I’m paying less than what it would cost me for one wing alone :) I wasn’t really expecting to be that successful with not having full Audi history but they haven’t even questioned it.

I will update with pictures once it’s done in a few weeks time.

Picked up our car from York Audi yesterday after having the front wings replaced and sills repaired under warranty for the common corrosion. They fitted new wings, liners, clips and bolts and also some stone guards to hopefully stop it reoccurring so it’s now like the day it rolled out of the factory all fresh :D I also had it serviced including all the filters while it was in so should be maintenance free for many miles with the new tyres that were fitted a few weeks back also.

They kindly gave us a courtesy car which was a well specced A5 S Line 2.0 TDi which drove lovely but the novelty soon wore off when I had to lift my nearly 2 year old in and out of the back numerous times, you take for granted a 5dr car until times like this!

Not the greatest picture but this was it:

Anyway overall I’m chuffed with the work and back to loving the Avant.

Looking fresh, our 2010 Avant does have some chips and small amounts off corrosion there so I'm going to fit the stone guards as they do tidy that area up.

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay and where did you get them from?

I've opened a parts request and I've seen them on eBay for £32 deliver part numbers
8K0853823B / 8K0 853 823 B + 8K0853824B / 8K0 853 824 B

Off the top of my head I paid £28ish, call into your local dealer as they are usually cheaper than online.

Had another little play with carista today and enabled oil temp and lap timer on the dashboard computer. Also gave it a wash ready for a trip to Harewood hill climb for fuelled society show tomorrow with the little man.

Grabbed a photo in the week when having a stroll around a local reservoir, I do think the the B8 shape has aged well and still fits in with the newer stuff and in most cases better looking..... biased of course :D

Until I can afford to upgrade to a C7 Avant the B8 will stay so could be round for some considerable time :D
@DickoB8 - Ours will probs hang around for around 2 years
The next caravan SWMBO is looking at is around 2 metric tonnes so looking at a 4.0d BMW X5 with factory tow bar, used of course
Have you seen the price of a new X5 *** ?

I'm hoping she'll change her mind as I want a DSG 4motion Tiguan R-Line 190bhp (factory tow bar of course) & not such as massive 'van lol

Good choice my parents have the new shape Tiguan in R Line spec and it really is a lovely car there’s is the 150bhp 2wd drive version.

Car is now in the for sale section undecided on what will replace it but thought I’d start hopefully gauging some interest.
