Just about to take the plunge and de-badge my white 2013 A4 S-Line (getting rid of the A4 and TDI from the rear).

Am I right in thinking:

- Heat area with hairdryer to soften the adhesive.

- Run dental floss or fishing wire behind badges to remove.

- Use Goo Gone or Sticky Stuff Remover to get rid of the leftover residue.

Am I missing anything obvious? Anyone done it successfully and have any tips?

Cheers

Pretty much however, I didn't use hairdryer but just the dental floss behind the badges and took my time to remove them. And then used Autoglym Tar remover to get rid of the residue.

Cheers Tashfeen - going to give it a bash after work tonight.

Should I be applying anything after the adhesive remover such as a wax etc?

Would be a good idea to do it however, I washed/polished the whole car after debadging and removing the adhesive just to make sure . The tar remover itself does a good job.

Slide a credit card behind the letters, ping them off. Then fudge wheel the glue foam off.

Dont really need any wire or heat to be honest.

Even brake cleaner on a cloth will remove the sticky icky.

Household items of WD40 first to soak and then a boiled kettle will do the majority .

Yes, I think that “wire” sounded a bit too nasty, though I’m guessing that you meant fishing line, ie nylon not steel wire!
