an anyone please tell me what the coding is to change the rain sensor back to standard so it doesn't close the windows if it is activated please.

I've looked all over and can't seem to find it although I have seen it on this forum before!

There have been a bunch of threads about enabling it. I would just reverse what they say. I still haven't gotten mine working so mine are somewhere in the middle.

I didn’t even know it did that.

Every day is a school day.

It doesn't sound a very useful function. It isn't as if you'd forget to close the windows if there was rain coming in! On the other hand, if it closed the hood on a convertible that was parked, that could useful.

A bit like the rain sensor itself, I reckon.

Can't people tell when it's raining any more?

Call me old-fashioned, but I've always worked on the basis that if there's water on the windscreen and I can't see out properly, I need to use the wipers.

Well quite but it's part of a pack isn't it rather than something ordered specifically? I have the rain sensor and it is vaguely useful but I can't say I'd miss it much.

I know.

It was just a gripe, that's all. Nothing more to it than that.

Anyhoo, mine's turned off and I haven't crashed into anything yet.

Yet...

I’ve been trying to get this to work and so far not been successful. For me it’s my kid that like opening and closing windows and there has been times I get back to the car and one of the windows is open.

it's easy to leave the sunroof cracked or open if you park your car for the day and a microburst hits.

Before I disabled it in the MMI, my keyfob would oven the windows if long pressed to open the car. It did it once with the key in my pocket at home. Then it rained a lot over night. Leather seats - let alone the carpet etc. don't take kindly to being soaked in rain water over night :-(

Wish they had closed on their own when it started to rain...

Yer, I've been trying to find information how this is switched on so I can just reverse the procedure but cant find it anywhere.

I think it’s hurried within a 200 page thread somewhere. Took me a while to find it.

Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated.
