Apologies if this is already common knowledge !
I’ve wanted speed camera alerts on the Audi sat nav for ages.
I know some of you have a fix but it’s too complicated for me.
I use Apple CarPlay.
Now Waze runs on this I simply open it and let it run in the background and revert to the Audi satnav.
When I approach a camera I get the Waze voice alert.
Same with roadworks / potholes etc. Waze gives the voice warning.

Must give waze a shot. Heard a lot of good things about it. Just not keen on CarPlay. Audi needs to do something with CarPlay to integrate it with the virtual cockpit better.

Waze is amazing, saved me from radar in Germany a few days ago and after using HereWeGo and Google Maps for ages, it's refreshing to use a community driven application where people actually report stuff ahead of you.

Agreed.
Even the pothole warnings are accurate.
It just doesn't look as good as the in car system but running it in the background gives the best of both worlds.

Will check this out.

Do you just need to just open the app or do you need to enter the route as well for the alerts?

Just open the app.
Don't enter a destination if you want to use the in car Audi system.
Waze runs in the background monitoring where you are.
As long as you have the alerts enabled in Waze, if you are approaching a hazard, eg traffic light camera, it gives you a voice warning.

You're making me very tempted to get Carplay retrofitted now

I have an F800 dashcam fitted in. It alerts of any speed camera or mobile speed cameras areas. Will give Waze a go.

Excuse my ignorance but doesn’t Waze eat your data

I would’ve thought so, also potential issue with Waze is say for instance you loose 4G out in the middle of nowhere it wouldn’t necessarily pickup a mobile speed camera even if it had been reported, so you may not get the alert.

If the you load POI’s into the Audi Nav it’ll always alert you to locations regardless of whether you have any mobile signal or not. Although I know the POI loader was having problems on the new Audi website recently, unsure if they’ve fixed it yet...

I’ve uploaded POI of speed cameras last year.... but I don’t get alerts.
How can I get my satnav to warm me when I’m approaching an speed camera POI?
