Hi guys was wondering what mpg you guys are gettin.
Traveled 240 mile to Cambridge last week in audi ( 2012 2.0 tdi 143bhp sline saloon) used just under half a tank 57.6 mpg indicated.
Done same journey this week in my 2009 golf gttdi mk6 2.0tdi and 65.1 mpg indicated with quarter of a tank used.

My audi has had the omissions recall done is this mpg normal or not what do you guys think :icon thumright:
Thanks mark

I average low 40s in a 180 TDi Quattro without emission recall done.

Never ever got anywhere near 57 lol

To be fair it was all motorway driving with three 4-5 mile 50mph average speed zones.
:racer:

Only ever do short town driving, so I’m only getting low 40’s in a 2015 2.0 TDI 150. Have just mapped it supposedly 200BHP, need to do a run to see if the MPG has improved but it does seem to have.

What are you getting to a tank? Also when you fill up does your electronic fuel tank range ever go above 500 mile? First filled the car when I got it a few weeks ago, it took £75 to fill it and the range showed 500 miles. Seems pretty low for £75 worth of fuel tbh. Presumably if actually got 500 mile from the tank that’s only 39mpg, can guarantee I wouldn’t actually get 500 mile from it though.

Another boring post about MPG again. Why can't people just drive their cars ie A to B and get on with it.
Don't forget thats just the cars computer. To do a correct mpg calculation you have to do a brim to brim and work it out with pen and paper?
Sadly people have forgot what they are.
Rant over

I have the same engine (143) with the emissions recall adjustment and have managed 61.7MPG according to the car’s computer. This was 150 mile trip with 50 mile an hour road works etc. I normally manage to hit just over the 50MPG mark on my way to work which is 35 miles on mainly motorway.

Get you,
It’s a boring topic get over yourself

If you fancy a laugh. Actually work out your mpg instead of your dash mpg.

That's a good point. If you're not happy with your mpg on the dash. Don't work out the genuine mpg.

Kicked whilst down comes to mind.

He's done it 3 times recently, it would be really good if the mods removed him. Clearly not the sort of person we want in our forums.

Have you had emission recall? :sob:

Not a clue, only had the car a few weeks. Would I need to ring the main dealer?

Get the my Audi app that's were I was told mine had been done but needed the recall for heater elliment which was done fri with free health check and wash and a free loaner for the day

Pleased you’ve said that, well it appears the cars had the emissions done but I didn’t know there was a recall for the heater element. It’s been replaced once, but it’s actually in Evans halshaw getting looked at again because it’s very loud

Apparently there not as fuel efficient after emission recall.

That’s crazy, doesnt matter if it let the tank go empty or only use £20 worth of fuel then fill it again I can never get it above 500 mile range. Yesterday there was 225 mile left in the tank, drove up the A1 to Newcastle & back which was around 50/60 mile then drove 10 mile round trip to a restaurant. 135 mile range left this morning

The range seems to be based on the current trip MPG.
I've had the range go up on my way home (town driving followed by motorway)
so it would make sense that your range is lower in the morning

That’s how I thought it worked, when I first bought the car 4 weeks ago I drove home from harrogate. 65 mile trip down the A1M. Drove back very sensible with the cruise control set at 70. Filled up when I got home & the range maxed out at 500 mile. My MPG couldn’t really of been much better on that journey

All depends on the type of journey you are doing.

The A4 TDI (and most diesels in general) is rubbish around town. Lucky if you get above 35mpg, but frequent motorway/a road running is easily doable of around 55mpg.

I generally always get 700-750 miles on the range on my B8.5 Avant

Mines the B8.5 saloon, always town driving so maybe that’s why I can’t get above 500

Mines a b8 estate and i can barely get over 600. That's on long runs through France.

Well guys got 608 miles on full tank before fuel warning light came on.
I was pushing it for last 3 quarter of tank rushing home Friday and weekend away.
Was still 55miles left on range I think 700 miles to a tank is achievable if driven carefully.
Overall happy with those figures.
Will be getting a map will post back if any improvement once mapped . :superman:

Glad to see people achieving over 50mpg.
I just picked up my 2009 143bhp manual and was happy with '50mpg' average per the onboard computer for my 30 mile commute this morning.

Honestly, I don’t know how you guys are doing it. I really don’t

Only had my 170bhp Avant for a couple of months and best I’ve got is 47.8mpg on a 50mile drive today. My old Exeo with the 140bhp lump fitted averaged 53-55mpg on a regular basis and 58mpg was achieved on a 4hr journey at a constant 70mph. It’s early days with A4 but I’m sure I will achieve 50+ on a longer journey! As for miles per tank best I’ve achieved so far was 420miles with the reserve light on but has been more short journeys as of late. The Exeo would easily do 500miles before hitting reserve, I’m more than happy with the A4 though as the extra power is perfect for a bit more fun and more than economical enough. I’ve always run my diesel cars on v power so might take a few tanks worth before I see the gains on the A4!
