We've just received our brand new TT which is a 1.8BE manual that did not have the tech pack however the dealer retro-fitted satnav for the costly sum of £1500. All seems well except we don't have Audi Connect so we don't get any of the online traffic, nor Google Maps or anything. Is this something we should have? Or can we add it? Perhaps @DJAlix can help with the software side?
Cheers

In order to get Audi connect services you would need to retrofit a “used” techpack mmi unit. Your current unit will not have a SIM slot or and embedded SIM, if for some strange reason it does then it still cannot be used for Audi connect, only for WiFi access. Why? Your current units MAC address will not be in the Audi firewall to allow access to the services and there is no way to retro add this. Why retrofit a used MMI? A new one for retrofit purposes would not have its MAC registered also.

How much are we looking at to get that fitted? And do you think there is any value in my current unit for selling?
Cheers
