Suspension Options

Hi guys,

Not posted for a while but looking at suspension options as mine is on the way out.

I've heard some slightly lowered suspensions can actually ride better and handle better than the stock S Line suspension?

What is a good set up to go for if you want a 10-40mm drop and try to maintain or improve ride quality?

10-40mm drop is quite a range but to get a full 40mm drop on the s-line you'd need coilovers.

Thanks Damian, I'd rather something like 20 - 30mm, but wanted to give a range so I didn't exclude anything really good. Do you have any recommendations for coilovers? Seen various mentions of AP and Eibach for this model, but not sure if there is a best set up?

Thanks Rob, how do you find the ride and handling? Much better than stock? How much lower did this make your car?

Excellent setup, can't fault it ,thought about changing it while back then realised what a mistake it would be, very happy with.

I’ve just put St Coilovers in mine mate. Changed the rear springs from the st ones to hyperco 7.5” couldn’t be happier. Im lower than 40mm over standard s line and the ride is incredibly good!!

Hi folks - is the general concesus for 45mm lowered springs all round for a TFSi Avant S Line?
Howabout adjustable upper track control arms for the front to avoid killing your tyres (dial out the negative camber) ? I don't understand why these are NOT available anywhere in the UK & have to come fom the States........
I want to mod my B7 (already did all this on my B6 using a JOM set of adjustable coilovers & adjustable contol arms) as the front sits far too high with the standard S Line suspension . I may well get another JOM set & get on with it.........

Are Bilstein B12 kits recommended on the forum?

Bilstein B8 shocks with Eibach springs with a 30mm drop.

Can anyone clarify when suspension say a 30mm drop presumably its from stock height?
So would 30mm drop be the same as stock S-Line suspension.
