anyone know the gap for the spark plugs on the 3.0tfsi caka engine?

I’ve bought ngk double platinum plugs but I want to check if they’re the correct gap before fitting

Thanks

I just bought a set of 6 NGK PFR8S8EG which came in Audi branded boxes, in my write up of what my car is/needs, I seem to have left the gap as ?.?mm which is not very helpful, and I've made no comment in my service record when fitting them, so, I'm guessing that I've left them set at whatever the NGK listing said they should be.

Edit:- okay I've checked on the NGK website and they quote 0.032" which translates into 0.8mm, so, thanks for making me get moving and clearing that up for my records!

Slightly off topic, or maybe not... Are owners fitting 'colder' grade plugs to remapped cars?

I'm stage 1 and have the NGK BKR8EIX plugs fitted. Can't remember the gaps but I think they are .030

That's still an 8 heat range plug, or the same heat range as the OE plug. The NGK BKR9EIX, would be the 'cooler' alternative plug.

The OE PFR8S8EG and BKR8EIX are essentially the same plug, with the former utilising a platinum tipped centre electrode and the latter an iridium tipped centre electrode. The BKR8EIX is also about 2/3 the cost of the PFR8S8EG, so it's useful to know other owners are using them. :thumbs up:

Well I eventually got round to fitting them but I’ve gapped them at 0.28 and the power up top end seems more violent but more farts from the dsg so a huge improvement

Wait a minute, is there not a decimal point missing there? Your coils must be hyper EHT!
