Quick and cheap mods

Looking for ideas and options of things to do with the car... I know there’s the usual options of changing and modding the bigger parts, suspension, maps etc... but what have you done? Or planning on doing? That’s a quick and easy mod?

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a nice different to the looks of the car

One things I’m going to try is put some black vinyl between the black grill surround and the inner of the headlights... just trying something different and it if doesn’t work, off it comes haha

@DW81 Thats a good one actually mate... the fronts are already done but the black doors are just the plain light so would be a nice little change

@dno_uk I’m in a saloon DJ don’t have the worries of the wiper... and black badges were on as soonnat I got it home from the dealers... cheers tho mate!

@FBF01 Get it done mate... I done it on my RS and the rear looks so much cleaner without the wiper on! I mean I bet it’s not like you actually use it much anyway... I never missed it one bit in the RS!

I wouldn't be getting rid of the wiper. I miss one on the TT and the wiper is not something I've ever looked at on an RS3 and thought it needed to go. If anything it suits the rugged character of the car?!

That's about the only photo I have of the rear (ish) of my car I'm afraid.

I know opinion will be divided but I think it makes the back end look really clean and like you said only a tenner

It’s definitely a mod that splits people 50/50... it’s all how you see the car as you’ve mentioned here mate... you like the rugged look of the rear like many others will... some of us like the sleeker look! Either way for the money it’s one people can try

...although bear in mind it might take a little work to actually fit it, the wiper and motor assembly will have to be removed first?! Am I right @dno_uk, that said it’ll be a job 90% of people will be able to potter on with

Yes mate, wiper and assembly do need to be removed first. It's a bit of a fiddly job but definitely one you can do yourself in about 30-45 minutes. I found a really helpful guide on the S3 forum actually.

I’m of the opposite opinion, I would rather have a functioning rear wiper for practicality reasons than to have a bung in my rear window for nothing more than purely aesthetic reasons.

I never understood why anyone would want to remove the rear wiper of any car with a slopping hatch such as the RS3 because me personally, I like to see out of my rear window to see the faces of the losers I’ve left behind....

Yes I did read it that way after I messaged you. Does it make a difference to decat the secondary cats, my view personally is that the sports exhaust isn’t loud enough, even dynamic mode is relatively quiet in comparison with other marques of car, any exhaust mods that emphasize the grunt of the 5 cylinder and that’s why I asked about the zorstec
