As some of you may be aware with random posts I love my S4 but I have had a real itch for an RS model for quite some time.. well today is the day I managed to scratch that itch.

I was looking at TTRS coupes but to be honest I talked myself out of them as I wouldnt be able to get my snowboards in them let alone anything else ( I have wife and 10YO daughter) but today ive bought a fully loaded mythos black (see a theme here? S3/S4 Mythos for life!) Audi RS3 Saloon and im so excited right now.

it has everything I wanted but especially the obnoxious audi sport performance exhaust upgrade (£1000 WTF!!)

pretty sure im going to get an asbo within a month and my neighbours are going to hate me (but know when I come home:) )

I know its not everyones cup of tea.. but I cannot stop grining right now and looking forward to the delivery in a couple of weeks.. and I just wanted to share my happiness with my 4um buddies : )

now just to take all my bits off that I have been buying including the bits ive ordered and not turned up yet :(

keep an eye out on the classifieds or PM me if your interested in
BMC air filter (500 miles),
ECS silicon hose (best upgrades I did!)
S4 chrome/ silver mirror caps (im leaving the oem CF ones on as can't be Ar$d)
ECS flush kit (10mm all around + bolts and locking wheel nuts)
ECS carbon chin spoiler thing

im sure theres more.. :)

ill still be living on the forums daily so not going anywhere..

Thanks

Possibly interested in the ECS flush kit... maybe also the filter and silicone hose. Can you PM me prices? I’m not far from Basingstoke so would be able to collect.

Congratulations. Seems a strange move though When I looked at new cars I did look at an rs3 but the s4 seemed a nicer place to sit

It’s circumstances I guess .. I do have another car for ferrying dogs around (never been in the S4) so my boot only ever got filled with Costco shopping once a month and my laptop bag

The spec with the super sport seats (in lunar silver) and alcantara RS bits does make it a special place to be for me, although I will miss the massage feature of the S4.

Comfort and sound has pretty much the same B&O, reversing cam, keyless etc.. so I’m not really loosing out on spec but GAINING an engine ... and oh what an engine ..

Plus.. I love the saloon shape and never owned a saloon before ..

Horses for courses. S4 is an incredible car and I will miss it, the size and space of it went a little wasted for me that’s all..

Love the RS3 saloon! I did start looking at some last month as I have that itch too but only had my S4 for 9 months so too early! I’ve got another 3 years on my PCP so hopefully the new shape might be out by then?!

You don’t mind sharing the details do you? Price etc? (It’ll only get me thinking about buying one again haha)

That last sentence is pure lies lol you will miss **** all when you fire the rs3 up you’ll love it and there ain’t really a running in period they get spanked round the factory for 30-40 Miles before delivery all rs cars do.
I miss my rs3

It would be good to hear your thoughts when it arrives and how it compares to the RS3

I came the other route from an M135 to the s4

I know the RS3 is the better car to the M135 but when I had a test drive of those 2 my head would not allow me at the time to justify the extra expense of the RS3

Let us know how they compare

Enjoy

I had the m135i and got rid for the rs3 then moved to the s4 Avant for kid ferrying.
Rs3 destroys the m135i in every way you can imagine it’s a special little car the m135i is a nice car but it’s a small gt

All about engine, character and smiles per mile. It's a scratch that needs itching. S4 and variants will always be there when/if you've had enough

Congrats mate! RS are very special cars. Nearly 2 months now with the RS 4 and a big smile every time I get in the car. It’s going to be a long wait but well worth it. Enjoy the car!

exactly this nice to see someone understands AS MY WIFE DOES NOT! AND NOT VERY HAPPY!.. its one of those things.. cars make me tick, spend all my spare money on them for enjoyment.. never owned an RS anything but always wanted to. S4 is amazing but just dont need the added practicality right now..

I have always thought the A3 saloon to be one of the best looking cars in that class of car. It has competitors in the bmw and mercedes but none of them are a patch on the looks of the A3 saloon. I am sure the rs version will make it even more a bit special
Mine, just a humble 1.4 though:

@cuke2u I totally agree and I just done see them on the road round my way... one of my neighbours had recently bought an s3 saloon in blue and I really liked the shape.. but never really got on with the A4 saloon shape ( if you know what I mean), this will be my first saloon car and im looking forward to something different.. sure there are a few options missing compared to the s4 but to be honest things like the massaging chairs were a bit gimmicky anyways ..

very nice colour combo and shape, thanks for sharing !

My Sepang S3 saloon by far the most gorgeous car to look at I’ve owned, always turned heads and admiring comments, something the S4 doesn’t get as much of.

The RS3 saloon is beautiful and a car I’d like to own once I don’t need the practicality of the S4 Avant.

Looking forward to some pics once you’re the proud owner.

I certainty agree that the A3 saloon shape is certainly better looking than the S4 and the A4.I actually dont like the A4 shape but the S4 somehow makes it bearable.

I was actually torn between the S3 and the S4 as the S3 trumps the S4 looks wise. However i wanted something a little bigger and wanted that V6 engine. The interior of the S4 is also much nicer than the S3

The reason I swopped to a A4 was only purely financial and that I tend to never to buy the same car twice. At the time of looking for a alternative to my A3 the facelift had just came out thus the dealership incentives coupled with a lot lower apr meant that I could have the A4 for a lower monthly cost plus more equipment. I also seem to remember that at that time the only 2.0l petrol engine in the A3 was quattro also leading to a higher cost as well.
However the A4 is a much nicer place to sit in despite its more saloon look to the hint of coupe the A3 saloon has.
Who knows what car I will get next in 2019. I can afford to pay off the A4 or, if there is a new A3 model out, it could be an A3 saloon again. Or, if its my heart ruling my head, a TT convertible...

Out of my budget that haha. But mine equally loaded and cracking condition inside with the white leather. I think the used market is very exciting right now. Want to see yours with launch. That 5 pot bwap bwap bwap is insane

Just had my shell voucher today, £6 for me!

Not really worth it is it? Keeping on topic, are these 99 octane fuels worth it? Seeing as though shell fuelsave has cleaning additives in?

Will S/RS cars benefit from 10p extra a litre fuel?

From what I remember the RS4 fuel cap says it wants 98Ron fuel. So think the engine is tuned for super unleaded.

Got my £2.50 voucher , free newspaper and something else too yesterday :)

I’ve only ever run my cars on optimax, I feel the few quid extra on the tank is worth it in the grand scheme of things ...

@Thundercliffe81
RS4 is going to be immense, can’t wait to see it! There is just something about the last of the V8’s!

Also off topic (ish)
I am worried about all these advanced key car thefts though so I’ve ordered a couple of faraday bags for piece of mind

Can’t find the recent Audi video I saw but this shows how easy it can be.

I’m old school and like pressing a button to lock and unlock. I purposely didn’t spec it on the S4 but it’s coming on the RS..

If thieves want you car, irrespective of what method of opening the doors are, they will take it and more than likely come after the keys anyway as it has more value. With an RS4 the risks are higher however Audi's still do not make it into the top ten most stolen cars.

I use T99 which softens the blow a bit. I did pay over £1.50 a litre at Shell recently though!

@zippster get Ghost installed, can't be driven off even with the keys.

Yes you are now correct LOL, I was looking at 2017, however it doesn't really state how the cars are stolen and the Police tend not to bother either. Still the best way is to just get GAP insurance and not fight for the keys

+1 on the GAP, let them have it, and ideally not get it back wrecked!

Sickening isn't it? Advanced key isn't something I would spec and having a faraday cage/bag is just good for many reasons let me know which one you go for buddy. Through PM. It's yet again, trading security and peace of mind for 'convenience. Tut

I just done the math and driving to my nearest Tesco station would cost me £3.50 more per tank than paying the extra at a Shell station on my commute. Ha. Gutted.

How about a good ol' fashioned clamp??
