all booked in for Saturday. Stage 1 map and DSG map.

Just hope I get the figures to go with my excitement haha.

Awesome! Don't look at peak figures alone - it's all in the mid-range where it matters most, as well as how the car feels afterwards. I don't see anyone doing this better or safer then Niki.

Sweeeeet!

You know I have been thinking about going to R-Tech myself for the exact same thing Stage 1 and DSG remap possibly Stage 2. Please let us know how you get on, it's a 2 hour drive for me as I'm in Essex so need to be 100% prepared and certain before I make the trip up to Nuneaton.

What are the main benefits of getting the DSG done?
What's it all setting you back?
Have you had the preventative / recomendded parts changed like the HPFP CAM FOLLOWER (06D109309R), DIVERTER VALVE (06F145710G) and PCV SYSTEM (06F129101R)?
I know they offer to do it on the day but need to find out how much they will charge too.

Good luck!

Thanks Leshkin will let you know how I get on :)

Shady boi, same here I live South Wales and that’s 2 hours and 20 mins away. I was going for my usual APR but I though no always gone on about R-Tech so let’s do it.

Yes oil filter and oil changed, Fuel pump cam follower replaced, DV+ fitted, Ram Air CAI fitted, DSG oil and filter replaced so think I’m all ready haha.

Not 100% sure on the DSG map best to read up on it, but I want it mainly to take off the Auto gear change.

R-Tech will do a health check before mapping but you should take your car there in the best possible condition, i.e. fix / replace anything you know needs doing.

I'm a happy R-Tech Stage 1 customer

Nice, what S3 you have? What year?

Where did you get your parts from?

Mines 2010 S3 Sport back DSG.

I always buy genuine parts as the prices are nearly as cheap as aftermarket these days plus you know it’s going to fit haha.
Also one of my friends is a master tech at Audi so he carries out 90% of the work for me at a good rate :)

Ram Air I actually got from Amazon there was a deal on the oversized CAI at £126 so I had to have it.

Ok cool what site is next for genuine parts?
Yea I know a master tech near me too, will have to contact him.

Sweet, Ramair good then? Just had a look on Amazon and think I found the one your on about.

Yes that’s the one mate. It’s a good deal.

I buy all the parts from TPS Cardiff VAG parts specialist.

Update :)

My R- Tech day is complete and I’m a happy customer.

My S3 was already mapped (did think it was quick for standard) but it couldn’t of been a good decent map.

Was 304bhp with 349ft lb torque. Which I was told is not a good map or a safe one really for the engine. The power was straight in at a big punch but tailed off quickly high up the Rev Range.
So mapping commenced.

My S3 is now 317bhp with 319fr lb torque with a much fuller used power band of the full Rev Range and you can really feel it also. Dsg box was mapped also, now with launch limited set at 4500rpm Auto upchange in manual mode has now been disabled so the car will Rev all the way till 7100rpm until till you chance up otherwise your bouncing off the limiter. Fuel economy has is also a lot better where the power is more linear I managed 31mpg there and 34mpg home haha.

Over all I’m very happy with the outcome and the guys know exactly what they are doing only down side I could say is I would of liked to of been told abit more what was going on and more details on the map and dsg map as I’m not 100% sure fully what was done to the DSG but overall I’m a happy Customer :) and would go there and will go there again :)

Whats your Rev's sitting at when your doing 70mph out off curiousity cheers

I had a hard cut limiter on mine but niki mapped the upchange back on, it will let me hit it once but not bounce which I prefer, smashing the limiter is pointless and unessasary

Umm not 100% sure but I think it was 2500rpm at 70?

No I agree I’m not a Honda limiter basher haha.
Excellent , just asking as mine used to sit around 3000 to 3100 but after tweek its down to 2700 and you will defo feel the response . If your looking hor Black wrapped heated electric mirrors give me a pm

Yes I agree.

Haha I’m all good with these mirrors thanks dude :)

Car feels lot more responsive and I tried lauch, set with the new peramiters it’s like, wow

Excellent mate please for you ENJOY :thumbs up:

Great read this, pretty much what I want to have done to mine but I’m also thinking of 3” downpipe and decat but I’m in two minds because of hassle with MOT.

Would the extra cost of parts and labour be worth it for a few more ponies?

What did you pay for your trip to rtech?

That's a strange chart, whats going on at 3800 rpm ? you seem to have a huge flat spot that doesnt really recover till 5000 rpm +?

I don't understand this ? the revs vrs speed can't change unless its in a different gear, you put different size wheels on or change the box ? :)

Think the darker lines are the old bad map, the new lighter line is the current r-tech map

Yeah I agree looking at that, I would hope the thin lines on the graph are the new map and the bold lines are the old map

The reason i asked @paddy was when i got mine mapped without it being on a rolling road and most said i would have been better to get it done that way it made me think was it done right or not as you do .
But after checking with another member and this member that when theres waa sone there car dits a lower revs at 70mph and the pick up response is quicker at lower revs so i hope this clears it up for you . :thumbs up:

Sorry ch1 but you have completely lost me. No map is going to change the revs at a given speed. Thats a mechanical fixed parameter.

Hi guys sorry for the late reply,

Yes thicker line is old map, thin/faint line is new R-tech (I would of done it other way around lol)

Old map I was told was Terrible generic map which you can all see is terrible.

Been out tonight and I can tell you the car is totally different now and I couldn’t be happier. Bar I really want Stage2+ now again haha.

@markbrown87 there was a guy before me with S3 manual but had d-cat and down pipe, made 341bhp with 358ft lb torque but the map had to be tuned down because of the feeling (standard pump)
So pretty pointless really.

Wicked! Glad it went well it makes me want to go more now lol. I got a quote from a company near me for the following below, what you think?

New genuine Audi PCV supply and fit - £104.40

New genuine Audi cam follower for high pressure fuel pump supply and fit - £107

New genuine Audi Diverter valve supply and fit - £145.20

PCV and cam follower should be relatively easy DIY but not bad prices to be honest for supply and fit, diverter valve may as well go for an uprated one over standard Audi if you are planning to run higher boost.

Ok cool that's good to hear. Well I've never done any mechanical work on any car in my life (apart from the usual maintenance) so I wouldn't want to risk it doing it myself, knowing me I would find a way to **** it up somehow lol

I've sent the company another email asking about the GFB DV+, see what they say.

All of them are very easy to replace I would do it for half the price if you arranged the parts haha.

Also I had a good Deal on the GFB DV+. There is now a company making the DV+ and selling on ebay for £35. I bought one as a trial and its exactly the same as the GFB so hell of a saving :)

I think it’s a bad quote. The PCV is not £60 to fit, the Cam follower I give him, the DV is not £100 to fit.

All 3 could easily be done within an hour by a specialist. Try the DV and PCV your self. Just take your time.

Just stick with the factory DV, the Rev G version.

Do not get a cheap DV, not matter how attractive the price is. No quality control so pieces could fall off.

I was about to say the same - PCV is a 5 minute job to swap and DV is similar. The follower is a simple job too, but not for everyone as you're dealing with fuel and it's a little awkward, so easy to mess things up if you're not up to it. Plenty of good Youtube videos about to show how it's all done with simple tools.

They've quoted you 310 for a job that will cost at most, 150 in parts and an hour of work for anyone remotely competent.

Good looking graph mate! Some meaty gains in the mid-range!

Old maps looks like someone just jacked the boost up and left the ECU to deal with it haha

I bet it feels amazing now :)
