Hi, I just noticed this yesterday. If I drive over 30/40 mph the mirror starts flapping in all directions. The housing is secure and no damage and the mirror glass it's self seems solid to touch. I don't want to open it up just in case it is some thing simple.

Cheers

Mine did something similar and it had come unstuck from the backing. I superglue it back on

Araldite worked on mine, but whether the heater still has any effect I don't know.

I googled it part number off mine for drivers side is 4G0 857 536B try gliding though.

Feels like your breaking it when you pull it off. Be careful of the 2 wires attached for the heated mirror

Thank FM, I got it today and fixed it. The lad in the dealers made an interesting observation and I don't know if relevant or not. He said that on the mirror switch most people leave the switch set to the middle with is the heated mirror function. Better off leaving it turned to the left or right.

Ah ok thought it only came on at a certain temperature though ??? I normally have mine to the left so the mirror dips automatically when reversing.
How much did the dealers want for the mirror if you don`t mind me asking ???

50 euro for the mirror. I not too sure about the temperature but it did make sense to me at the time :)
Tell me more about this mirror dipping, how do I do that?

Put switch to lhs mirror and select reverse. Now set where you want the mirror to be in reverse.

Once you put it back in drive it should return to where it was.

Think that's it off the top of my head
