Have any of you guys with hub-centric spacer kits got a recommendation for locking wheel nuts?
I will be getting the kit with the longer wheel nuts, but will need a longer locking nut too.
I plan for 10mm rear and 8mm front (subject to change) if that makes a difference to the length of locking nut I will need?

Thanks in advance of any suggestions.

Yes you will need 10mm and 8mm longer 10mm for all will suffice

Thanks Lee, I'll be honest.. I did kind of expect that to be the case, but I don't know the length of the current bolts or the length included in the pack I am planning to buy. I was kind of hoping that someone would be able to let me know that I need bolts a specific mm in length.
Hope that makes sense?

From memory the std bolts are 27mm (M14x1.5), R13 radius seat. Just add the spacer size to get the required length. You’ll be able to get a set of security bolts too - I found Amazon were the cheapest for the McGard ones.

Better clamping pressure of the wheel to the hub, easier to get the wheel on (not having to line it up as you do with the bolt) and they have that #racecar look.

Better clamping pressure is a bonus, I can see the benefit there.
Hopefully I won't be removing and refitting them often after the spacers are fitted, so that's a minor bonus for me.
Race car look isn't relevant for me as I have stock alloys with that plastic cover hiding all the nuts, which may even make it difficult to fit the conversion and continue to use the same alloys with the cover fitted?!
I'll give it some thought...

Not quite sure why you would need more clamping pressure ? If buying after market then TBH it will depend what the bolts/nuts are made of. I just bought some stainless caliper bolts and you can't do them up, they just stretch as fast as you can tighten them. People forget that nuts and bolts come in all different grades and you basically get what you pay for

Have a look here, this is where i got mine for 10mm and 12mm hubcentric.
http://www.ebaystores.co.uk/LDRS/Bo...71838013&_sid=133075373&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322

I didn't bother with locking again, I cant see anyone wanting to pinch std alloys and if they did then they can buy a key on ebay anyway.
Once you refit the plastic caps they don't know if you have locking or not anyway.
Looking up my road in surrey i can see a dozen sets of wheels i would pinch before i bothered with mine :)

Thanks for the Link Paddy.
I'll be getting the spacers with the bolts included so I know they are the right size, but if I'm not happy with them I know where to get replacements.
I know alloy theft is rare these days, but I'd rather have one fitted anyway for peace of mind. It's far cheaper for me to get a set of locking nuts than it is to replace 4 alloys and get them powder coated again.

After my costly affair with locking nuts OEM i have done away with mine cause they only need to be slighty over torqued and they easily become hard fast stuck .

The only time i've had an issue with locking nuts, was when i accidentally left the key at home and got a flat tyre on the M5.
That caused some heartache, but i learned to keep it in the car at all times.

The stud conversion is Bimecc brand, same as within the URL you posted above.

I can see people stealing my locking wheel nut and leaving the wheel ;)

I bought some locking wheel nuts that arrived today.
Before I go ahead and fit them at the weekend, can someone confirm if the are correct?
I'm sure I ordered the right ones, but do they fit OEM alloys (Radius)?
Link won't work for amazon, but description is:
27183SU Wheel Lock Bolts SU M14 x 1,5

Hi Dave, they look like cone/conical seat, not radius.

McGard
27183SU Wheel Lock Bolts SU M14 x 1,5, cone seat, shaft length 39,0 mm, Overall length 62,8 mm, Hex size 17mm, Key diameter 25,8 mm

How about theses?

McGard
28025SU Wheel Lock Bolts SU M14 x 1,5, radius seat, shaft length 41,0 mm, Overall length 62,8 mm, Hex size 17mm, Key diameter 25,8 mm

As soon as I saw them I thought they didn't look right. Typical!
Thanks for the link, I'll contact the seller and see if they can send out a replacement set.

Quick update on this.
I bought the correct bolts and they fitted fine, but unfortunately the head of the bolt is too deep and the centre cap will not seat correctly on the wheel due to the extra length.
Having to send them back and source an alternative.
