I have a 2012 A5 sportback. I went out for KFC on Thursday night. On Friday morning the car was unlocked, the boot wouldn't open, and there's no sign of life when either of my 2 fobs is pushed into the ignition. The radio works fine and the battery is at 12.4V. To establish the latter I opened the boot by crawling thru the backseats. I found that the cover to the fusebox and convenience module on the right side had popped off. I've had the car 5 years and this has never happened before. This makes me think someone has tampered with it. But there doesn't appear to be anything missing, not that I'd necessarily notice anything missing behind the cover.
Does anyone have any idea what might be at fault or why someone would want access behind that panel? It is possible I left the car unlocked on Thursday night It could be a huge coincidence at the cover was displaced on the day the electrics developed a fault. I've checked all the fuses and the batteries in the fobs. I'm at a loss and don't know what to think. I can't drive the car to a dealer and I'd like to fix it myself if possible.
