Here there and everywhere
this RS3 is my first Audi for about 7yrs and I absolutely love it, I’m currently seriously considering adding an M2 of the current N55 engine platform before they switch to the S55 M2 Competition. I did a deal on one a few months ago but pulled the plug on it last minute and I do regret it.
Any of you considered one or is it the fact that it’s a BMW that turns you off? lol. I generally don’t love one single Marque of car like some people as I own German, French and American cars currently. I should probably add that my last 5 cars have been BMW thoe lol

Car I’m considering below.

To be honest if I had an RS3 , especially Nardo Grey like yours if be happy with that. The only BMW that catches my eye right now is the M850i.

Surely you should go for the Competition? Will be a better car and will depreciate less.

I love my RS3 and it’s not going anywhere :icon thumright:, the M2 would sit alongside it and I think it would be a great addition. I like the look of the front end on the M850i but no BMW is worth £100k+

Well the N55 M2 sounds epic loads better than the S55 engine. I already have an S55 engined car so doesn’t make sense at this point to go with the M2 Comp. The deals on the current model are very favourable and there’s plenty of cars available etc, and it’s a BMW so depreciation is a huge part of ownership lol but that’s not something I worry about, buy a car and drive it lol

Think the M2 is a great looking car, I detest the seats though, don’t like the leather and even worse hate the design of the back rest, questionable blue stitching also.
Had these seats in my 335d and was a major contributor to me selling it
The comp pack will have better seats (albeit dodgy blue insets)

Wait if you can until 6 months after comp pack is released, you will get same deal as standard M2 is now as BMW flood the market

Saw a silver M4 comp yesterday, it looked immense, you could prob pick one those up for £48000 pre reg if this appeals

But if you want one go for it, I’ve been tempted many times

I have had lots of M cars and came out of an M4 to get my RS3. I spent a bit of a time with a N55 M2 before deciding, as I was seriously considering the M2Comp. I really enjoyed it but the interior wasnt special enough for me to enjoy it as both a drivers car and a daily driver. The RS3 I felt sits nicely between that level of interior, and the larger M3/M4 interior. No doubt the M2 is a great drivers car though and if you can get a good deal and think you will genuinely drive them both, then hell yes!

Hi mate, I know what you mean about the leather as I’m used to the Merino leather Me cars below, the Dakota leather is dogshit lol. I know the M2 has a few flaws but none of these detract from the driving experience which is fairly epic.

As I said above I love the sound of the N55 engine and exhaust nite, I had to spend a lot of coin to get the M cars to sound half decent. Your right thoe about “waiting a few months” as BMW know how to flood the market.

The M2 interior isn’t the best but that doesn’t bother me at all in truth, yes the the M2comp interior looks a lot better but it’s the out n out noise and driving fun I love

Not in the slightest, I need back doors and a decent boot for the imminent arrival of tiny feet :D

Nice

M4 with leather dash/glove box and carbon trim is nice
Otherwise bmw dash can look a bit cheap
M2 is a better looking car reminds me of the 1st M3s but interior not great, even Audi interior is not a patch on Audi’s of 15 years ago, but the best out there

Good luck, rock into a dealership tomorrow and put in a ridiculously low offer on a stock car

Pene - have you seen the tuned LBB one thats for sale on M3C? probably overpriced but if you are looking for another toy it has had some really sympathetic and interesting mods.

Got to say I do agree, I wouldn't pay 100k for a BMW....... But the M850i is a beauty.

Took this photo at the Beaulieu Super Car weekend, last Sunday......

Can’t say I like it, a bit too big and a bit 6 series. Is it X drive, if so it will be sorted

Not really. I'd only look at an M2 if I could live with a 2 door coupe. Then you'd have different options to the RS3 like the TTRS, Porsche 718 Cayman/Boxster, Jag F Type V6, Mustang V8, etc. You could potentially even get an RS5 with how much discount you can get now.

No no no no no and no! All them you’ve mentioned are utter dogshitzenhousen including the 4cylinder 718 which sound pump! RS5 just looks hideous.
That said thoe I respect your opinion :icon thumright:

Well a TTRS is basically the same as the RS3 FL but a bit faster and handles better I think too. Yeah the 4 cylinder 718 sounds garbage but it's still supposedly a good drivers car, people seem to love the GTS. Some call the V6 F Type one of the best sounding V6's and you can get it in a manual too, pay more and its 4WD as well. I think the RS4 isn't too far off the RS5 price so could be an option but its quite big. There are more cars too for a similar £50k price, a nearly new / discounted M3/M4. Discounted Alfa Guilia Quadrifoglio or 4C. Merc C43 is a similar price and with discount you can get a C63 S for around £60k, so a C63 must be around £55k.

Depends on what you like, an M2 competition pack looks great to me but I need a 4/5 door car for everyday use, so nothing really competes with the RS3 until the new A45/CLA45 comes out or BMW make an M2 gran coupe?

Yes I had an M135i and very nearly upgraded for M2 but chose RS3 instead. Main reason I chose RS3 was the poor interior in the M2 - was same as M135i which I'd had for 4yrs so didn't fancy another 4yrs with same interior - expect better for a £50k car.
Drive wise was amazing as you probably know - not much in it compared to Rs3 tbh but RS3 sound system and exhuast are better.

If this is to add to an RS3 - I'm not sure what it's going to add tbh unless you want to drift on trackdays

According to this, the M2 is being discontinued because of legislation reasons to do with the N55 engine, which is why they replaced it with the M2 competition.

Yeah the N55 is fairly old tech nowadays, sounds great thoe that’s the carrot.

I had the M135i when it first came out and I’ve always been a fan of the sound it creates.

No, I only have one car and the RS3 ticks more boxes than the M2. If I was only going for one single sports car it'd be from Stuttgart and have a flat 6.

Congratulations mate.
You say that thoe but I ran the M4 with a new born baby for 9 months before we got the M3, it was only a slight inconvenience but nothing to write home about :icon thumright:

Cheers fella, though I have a glass back, no way i'm bending over into the rear of the car carring a nipper

Didn’t realise you were over here as well as BabyBMW. RS3 and M2 is a good 2 car garage as I’d use thee M2 for fun without foregoing all practically in a Cayman for example

I had an M135 and M235 so didn’t go for the M2 as I wanted more of a change otherwise it would have been an option for me. Although the N55 may depreciate more you may pick up a bargain

I'd say if you're going for a 2 car garage then why do you care about the practicality of your fun car? Cayman is without a doubt a better car than any M2, and even beyond BMW very few cars can match what something like a 981 Cayman GTS can offer.

I probably should have explained myself a little better. When I said 2 car garage with one being fun I was assuming both as daily drivers rather than a fun weekend toy where as you say a Cayman would be my choice also

I’m everywhere mate lol

Ive has a few cars since the M135i, went down AMG route then into the full fat M department and also now into the RS fold.
I’m seriously considering the M2 with the manual box for some weekend fun. I really want the current N55 M2 but the more I look at the M2 Comp the more it appeals also lol I just know that it will sound ***** out the bag, as I eluded further up the thread I had to spend decent coin to get the M4 and M3 sounding better as the S55 isn’t a good Exhaust note.

My mate has an m2 and his is fully loaded so over £50k, cheaper than my RS3 though. I think it’s great but the interior is a lot smaller and not a patch on the RS3. Sounds great. Rubbish in bad weather. Killer for me is it’s not an all weather car and only 2 doors. Looks great though and my fav bmw car. Don’t really like bmw cars much though. He had an m3 before but found that so unbalanced. The only car I’d considered is the Ferrari engineer Alfa Romeo quadawachamacallit but they are more expensive than the RS3 and Id be concerned about depreciation akin to bad diarrhoea and build quality akin to a chocolate teapot

My wife test drive the Porsche 718 and was so unimpressed and said she preferred her s3. Been in and against a v8 mustang and was so surprised how slow it was. RS3 is miles faster, pretty certain the s3 will also spank it

Agreed, sounds nice too. I work in slough and the drive past the Alfa dealer every day, seen a few of those cars there too. If Audi didn’t do the RS3 I’d seriously consider one. I don’t believe the 3.9 sec to 60 though

If it was mid forties price wise I think it would be worth a look
