S3 stage 2 v RS3 stage 1

Yes mate, it just can’t put the power down. My M3 has 527bhp and 720nm and it doesn’t hook up until 3rd/4th Gear normally and by that time the RS3 is gone

Tell him to get some Mps4s or AD08R :thumbs up:

I can understand the s3 keeping pace if your car was standard but if you are mapped then something is not right.

But then people expect the difference between a 380 and 480 car to be massive on the road, its not. Not until you get to some silly speeds anyway
Spoke to my Revo dude today and he said that my car was at the lowest setting as it's on Momentum and to give it a couple of tanks of V Power after which he'll up it to the top setting which will make it pull harder ...

So I'm goin to give that a go.. :smug:

Momentum and V power are the same rating thought aren’t they? Surely not going to really make any difference?

After reading the posts on here and other forums I chose Momentum as it seemed to be the preferable fuel but apparently, Revo recommend V Power for whatever reason so that's what I'll try.

they just blowing you off with that, you're clearly not one of their valued customers with the drivel they feeding you.

I think it's the setting that makes the difference and I think Revo are saying that V Power works better..

I don't know tbh..

Ask me about Air Cooled Condensers..

I’d agree with monopole here... that’s a poor excuse from them really! The difference between the two fuels will be extremely minimal! Ive a feeling they’re just fobbing you off here mate

Why would they do that, IF they are?
I kinda get on well with the guy and he called Revo technical dept who told him this.
Don't get me wrong, the car is loads better than stock, it just kinda surprised me that it didn't pull away from the S3 with the stage 2.
If I'd not gone out last Sunday, this thread would not of happened.
I just wondered if the comparison was normal for the 2 cars involved.

How I see it is that I've paid for something that can give between 50-80 bhp more so if putting in Shell gives me 80 then that's what I'll do but if the extra power makes it suffer from more heat soak then it will have been a waste of money imo. .

No question it would have been a bit surprising to have had that with the S3, but blaming the fuel when they are the same rating is nonsense

So going off that, if you’re out in a long run somewhere and need to fill up and there’s no shell garages around... you have to ‘make do’ with momentum... will it be safe to drive the car after he’s put it up to the ‘top setting?!’

...I’d just like to say I’m by no means an expert on this, and I’ve never used REVO before, but I’ve modified and tuned my previous 3 performance cars and I’ve never heard this excuse from any of my tuners before. REVO maps may just be very sensitive to fuels, but I still find it odd :seenoevil: but as said, you’re only going of what’s been fed back to you mate, so hopefully you get the desired outcome soon

I said something like that today.

When I'm running the 2 tanks of V Power on the low setting, would it be an issue and was told it wouldn't.

I know penetrator uses Momentum and his is making 482 bhp so I am wondering wtf is going on....

Maybe an S3 stage 2 is a proper animal but I thought an RS3 stage 1 would pull harder from low speeds, I think, as mentioned, it will go eventually but you'd be tramming along then...

My car is fast, no doubt about that, I was just surprised that it didn't pull on the S3..

not tuned, but gives you an idea what a s3 vs rs3 looks like

very little until you hit silly numbers, so on a normal road, very little between yours and the stg2 car would be no different

That vid must be rigged? RS3 is 100hp up on a S3 so surely must be more in it than that :wtf:

TX.

310 vs 367 does not equal 100

(before you say stock PFL rs3's have been dyno'd at 400 yadda yadda... why then cant the stock s3 be near 340?)

in reality there's only about 60 hp between them, as I said, a stg1 rs3 vs a stg2 S3 would equate to the video,

@E15 I don't think there is anything wrong with your Revo tune, so no need to go switching fuels or forking out for IC.
Both your car and the S3 at stg2 are destroyers of mortal cars on the road and bring a bead of sweat to the 80, 90, £100k car drivers on the road.

On this, Ive used and use JB4 on the other cars and this can be very sensitive to using Vpower or Momentum and you can actually feel it in the power delivery and also JB4 allows you to run logs and it’s clear to see there is a difference between the 2, not massive but enough to show on the logs I ran and to notice it in the driveability.

Momentum user here and no issues at all!

How do you change the maps? Do you have a handset... or need to head back to the dealer?

Do you know what setting yours is at bud?

Looking at that must be set to the 95 map I’m guessing mate? You’ll need to have it changed to 98 when you can :icon thumright: you’d hopefully notice a bit of difference with that done

@monopole we both know even the PFL is close to 400hp so yes about 100hp up.

Someone show me all the standard 340hp S3's.

Edit - in my defense (partly) I thought it was a FL in the vid.

I gotta say, honestly, why on earth would revo let him drive away on a tuned 95 Ron map, why? If they did, then he asked for it. These cars are tuned stock for 98.

And why is this still going, I though he was happy and said thread done, this thread is like watching a moth spend 8 hours a night smashing it's face into a light bulb for Christ's sake :tearsofjoy:

No chance. Revo would have it set t0 the 98 map.

The option of the 95 map is for people elsewhere in the world who generally don’t have access to 98ron obviously, when I got my car done they ask which map you want in relation to what fuel you use.

Oh i'm mighty perplexed that Revo would allow such an occurrence for a driver to vacate the premises with a tuned car at 95 of the UKs finest octane. This surprises me a great deal.

I was just looking at vbox numbers I saw while ago on stage 2 HO mk7R and very impressive.

0-60 in 3.1
0-100 in 7.4
62-124 in 8.6

That's no slouch at all. Hence why min difference in normal driving speeds. Top end power will be where your RS3 would pull away. I agree though in this case if the s3 had upgraded IC in summer that would be huge advantage.

Most cars are tuned by “Revo Authorised Garage’s” not Revo themselves, therefore the person tuning the car can upload any of the preset maps as detailed above so.............

Edited by admin, let's play nice please.

Very impressive

Hahahahahahahaha....

HE didn't ask for anything, HE told Revo what fuel HE used and got the car back....and the S3 has an oe intercooler, hence 381 bhp.
HE is happy with the tune but was surprised by the S3 and the thread is still going on cos people want to have their say. As for moths, turn the light off chook...:shutup2::haha:

A mapped Rs3 FL would be in the 7s for 62-124 so the difference should be fairly large, I would bin the revo map and go down the APR or MRC route

Bud, I'm a construction manager not a bank manager! :sneakiness:
The car is fine, it goes well as it is so I'll not be going elsewhere as Revo have a good reputation .. for now . :thumbs up:
