Hi is there a way to connect Spotify or any music media on my phone without using the USB wire? I find the wire really messy and it really P me of when it's all over the place

My friend Merc can do this via Bluetooth but when I connect my phone via Bluetooth I can't access my music (i.e Spotify, Google music and other music platform etc)

Appreciate everyone's help :)

You should be able to do via Bluetooth. Check your connection manager and make sure the phone is showing under ‘Media’ heading IIRC

Go to media > Bluetooth and it should be there. Press play on Spotify and viola! Just make sure the volume is up on your phone and car

When I go into media it just shows WiFi settings.

I’m not in my car so doing this by memory but I click to the bottom right option (on the buttons not screen - as in below radio) and I keep clicking it to get to Bluetooth, cd, MMI, USB, etc.

i think what most people dont know is that on bluetooth you have to set bluetooth audio on music and hands free. Make sure both options are ticked in the mmi menus.

As another test if you got the bluetooth 'connected' play a youtube clip does that work?

Also works on Facebook when you play a video.

How do I turn this on? I just tested on YouTube and I can't hear anything on my phone

because you said a bad word.

Ummm you got an MIB2 however I only have an MIB1. I can't show you the correct settings but you need to right on your job dial on the connectivity settings to make sure both telephone and media is enabled.

I only know this because on my brother a4 8W i've found the setting when I was in the passenger setting my spotify to play on his car.

If you go to Bluetooth settings it has a list of things you can do like calls, texts and audio. The calls will say enabled but the others may not so just need to enable them

I believe Spotify needs Android Auto to connect to the MMI, this is why you need the USB lead. If you load music files onto your phone (e.g. MP3) you should be able to stream these via bluetooth

You can definitely play Spotify through Bluetooth (albeit the volume seems a lot lower than through android auto). Make sure on your phone for the bluetooth connection to your car you've allowed access to media etc. I get it working by pairing the phone to the car, and then clicking on the media option on the MMI. Then choose Bluetooth player and it plays. Hope that helps?

Thank you but I cannot find the Bluetooth settings on the MMI. Where is it located at? I search everything :(

I mean on your phone, under Bluetooth you should be able to access settings for each connection, under there it has various toggles for items such as "Media, Calls, Messages" etc which is what allows your car to access these things. Make sure these are all turned on. Then access the media option on the MMI.

Does this method allow you to skip / repeat tracks etc via the steering wheel controls?

Why not buy a short usb lead so it fits neatly away in the centre arm rest?

From memory, get in the car and pair your S8 to the car via Bluetooth.

Swipe down on your S8 and open bluetooth. You should see the paired device (Audi mmi). There should be a settings option, which if you open that, allows you to select what share via BT.

Sorry for the late reply. As you can see attached photo. I have ticked all the boxes on my phone but I still can't hear anything on my phone and car audio :(

I always found the sound to be a bit pants over Bluetooth compared to via cable.

Go to the MMI Connection Manager. Look for the BT Audio Player. That should list your phone. If it doesn't, you need to assign your phone as the audio player.
