Bought a used Audi and have got a pin etc for it. My plastic tag did not have a scratch panel. Just 2sets of numbers. One to the right of tag and one to left .The left hand set has a 11 digit code not 10

I have looked online and there seems to be a key user menu on audi connect tab in the car but I don't have that option

I tried factory reseting audi connect but still no key user set up

It's driving me barmy

You're not alone. It's almost as if Audi set out to make it as difficult as possible.

Can't remember how I did mine (useful I know), but was a combination of phone app, online audi login, and car login, just trying and testing different methods until one just worked.

Alternatively, give Audi customer services a call or their online chat can (sometimes) be helpful.

What benefit does it bring by linking your car as I don't have the sos module

I would call CS if I was you. You can send Nav destinations from google to car, that is one benefit I use a fair amount, but not an essential.

But you don't need the key number to do that. Just setup a login to my audi website and it will generate a pin number, either use that or your login credentials within the connection manager.
Mine works fine and for sending destinations I have never used the key number, without the sos it is not needed...

thats my query - as i dont have the sos i assume that i dont need to set myself up as a key user. however i cant work out how to send destinations. do i use the audo connect app on phone or the myaudi app

I have to say that audi has the most useless IT/log in system. both of links take me to a site which states

"You cannot be logged in because a separate login page exists for your market. You will be automatically redirected. Please try again there."

then when i try there it does not recognise my user name (which is my email address)

Yet when i use my email address on the audi uk site i can log in.

does each market need a separate registration

ignore me - i have set up so many audi accounts with apps and such like that it seems i did not do one on the main website

Either or use google maps, note that much of myaudi is flaky, to say the least. Also read through some of these:

Using google maps https://support.google.com/maps/answer/6081481?hl=en

flaky - its absurd - it does not help that my key code on my plastic tag is 11 digits whist everyone else refers to it being 10 digits - it also does not look like its ever had a scratch panel over it just a printed code with letters and numbers

Ok so I have found this:
To get going, follow these simple steps:
Step 1
Register on myAudi by clicking on this link: login.audi.com

Step 2
Add your vehicle to your account – you will need to have your vehicle chassis number (VIN) to hand.

Step 3
Locate your 8-digit Audi Connect PIN under your vehicle profile. You can add this to your vehicle MMI under Audi Connect > Login

Step 4
If you have Audi Connect Safety and Service, you need to verify yourself as the ‘Primary user’ following the activation steps under myAudi > Audi Connect User Management.

Step 5
Scratch the 10-digit code on your vehicle key tag and enter this into your vehicle MMI under Menu > Audi Connect > Audi Connect User Management > Primary User > Set primary user in your car.

Steps 4 & 5 are clearly not applicable if you've not got the Audi Connect Safety and Service, which is SOS

Me neither which is why I have been trying to clarify that audi connect with sos are different from those without...

Yes te pin number that should, if it shows up in the web version of myaudi, be generated when you first sign up.

it refuses to work either through google or the MMI connect app. I wonder if its because i cant enter the Pin number or key number in the audi MMI system itself as there is no user information log in screen - my audi connect list just shows the various services such as news , weather, football. etc

there is no other menu for entering in log in details on the audi connect MMI in car option

Can you find audi connect/options/login within the mmi?
Select menu, audi connect then press right button and then select login...

i will try a factory reset when i get back to car - i did look at this and could see a number of tick-boxes - i assume by ticking the boxes those are the options that will be restored to factory settings
