Hi all!
I was a previous A3 owner and finally upgraded/part ex'd it in for a new project but was still wanting to have the good MPG/Insurance/Tax costs as I do quite a few miles for work etc.
I had my eye on the A6 C7 TDI Ultra For awhile and finally picked mine up last month.

When I got it:

I've always wanted to do a stealth look car and thought this would be the perfect candidate so took no time in doing so, the story so far...

Light smoke front tints to match the rears & dark internal sun strip.

I think it helps time it all in.

Nice looking car! I’ve done the ssme with tbe front tints just not the sunstrip ( which looking at yours i quite like)

I’ll have to disagree on engine choice :) i do 30-35k a year and have a S6, lifes too short to be sensible:) :) :)

Yes the sunstrip is a nice little touch, I'm not a fan of the basic vinyl ones there abit too much for me. Plenty more to come.

Yes true, a good moto... but I'm currently saving up to buy my own house next year so we all end up having to make compromises somewhere : )

Got some new bits for the motor.

... I will also be having the calipers done gloss black to continue with the black on black theme :D

Is this to pathe the way for more power?

Mainly for looks to be honest.
I hate an arch gap/body roll (excessive)
And really rusty brakes look awful with 20" spokes there are really on show, never a bad thing better brakes though.

Powerwise... I will be just going for exhaust/backbox delete and stage one map nothing crazy.

Should get the wheels powder coated black.
I'm going for full stealth mode also

Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for the front tints? I'm looking around to get this done soon too.

I paid £72 for the fronts on mine. lifetime guarantee as well. Local firm who does mainly vehicle wraps.

I think that's a good price. Was thinking around 100 quid.
Emailed a place yesterday but they said they don't do fronts only lol bit strange.

Also what's the legal limit?

I had 70% put on the front of mine which keeps me legal ( if you go darker you will probably have to sign a waiver to say it is a show car only ). Looks quite subtle as well and not too drug dealer.

Is that 70%light through rather than 70%tinted?

Not at all...
Mine was 50 for the fronts & 20 for the sunstrip.
Mine are a level up from the 70% but look fine imo... still not been pulled/asked about them so happy days

I've been told that the factory tints on the front are to the legal limit and 2 different tint places up here wont touch them.
so looks like I'm stuck with the way it is :-(

AHH gutted!
Yes all modern cars normally have the legal limit bonded into the glass itself.
The company that did mine is a friend of a friend so maybe he just kindly looked the other way

Got mine done before trip to France and Spain.

Even in Ireland the ambiance in the front of the car is so much better.

The fitter told me it’s one of those things that once you have you’ll always have to have on every car in the future and he’s right.

His Bitdi in black with tints looked cool too

UPDATE:
Got the Eibach springs on now, settling in nicely. Really needs this mod imo with being a heavy car, sorts out the bodyroll a treat! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Just need to measure up for spacers now and get it all flush.

What kind of drop is that mate?

My Mrs is dead against lowered cars so I will struggle to convince her on that mod

Dam it haha!
It's very subtle... ends up being around a 12/15mm drop compared to the Sline set-up, comfort level is pretty much as standard after.

Great car you have there, looking forward to seeing the updates. What have you planned?
I have an A6 Ultra too, I bought it in March 2016 and have made a few mods to it.

UPDATE:
Got my car back from the painter's, had the rear diffuser and side trim on front bumper done gloss black.
Soon as I got it home I also debadged it, fitted black rings & my embossed (private) reg plates.

Looking really nice. Love the individual mods you've chosen - individually none of the mods jump out & slap you in the face as boy-racerish, but put them together they & they make the car stand out as a head turner.

Cheers Man!
I'm not into the OTT stuff I like everything to look sleek & tidy, it's all about the little details for me... appreciate it :icon thumright:

Thanks dude :peace:
I haven't looked into front splitters tbh, I like the Sline bumpers and mine is slightly lower now so looks more flush to the road which is what I wanted.
