With having the dynamic lights and matrix headlights I have the sweeping indicators front and rear... I’ve seen a few kits you can get to fit them into your wing mirrors to create the same sweeping lights here too

I’m just after a bit of guidence of which ones to go for and what to avoid? As there seems to be plenty of chinese copies out there... links are always welcome haha

Also, I’m guessing they are just plug and play and a fairly straight forward job over all?

CheeRS :icon thumright:

pretty sure none of them are Chinese copies............ they are all Chinese originals :tearsofjoy:

Yep all Chinese haha! Look cool, but with my luck you could count on some kind of freak electrical problem to burn the car out (don’t write anything off where I’m concerned).

I don’t have Matrix lights so no dynamic fronts, so not a huge loss for me.

Have to say I don’t care about dynamic indicators, led lights etc I can’t see them when I’m driving so meaningless to me

people can't see the outside of their car when driving yet spend hundreds on soap and polish and waste whole weekends washing it.

I can't see the inside of my wheel arch, so pointless carbon fibre tat to cover a stone chip is meaningless to me

opinions opinions

£5 drive through for the win.

way to throw negativity at someones thread LMAO

What ‘carbon fibre tat’ to hide stone chips may I ask?

IF you are referring to the guards that protect the PAINT on the BODY not the wheel arches, you must be lost among us because I can’t speak for anybody that welcomes stone chips.

I wonder the same, haha.

I had to draw the line somewhere on spec, after all I had to spare the money for my carbon fibre TAT to please fellow friendly forum members.

I wanted the pano roof and Matrix but it would have taken the spec over £55k, do regret not picking them though. Since had my first experience of adaptive lights in a 5 Series and they are amazing.

You are quite rude aren’t you.

Enjoy your stone chips, nothing like a tatty looking stone obliterated car :salute:

Just like the other 99.99% of the population that own cars, you're welcome :salute:

And if you don't like criticism, perhaps you shouldn't give it. Food for thought

The matrix lights seem good, although I think I could have passed on th now looking back... saying that, it’ll be later in the year when the real benefits of them come into play I’m guessing with darker nights

Ohh the pano roof... I couldn’t be without it haha... opening that is part of my usual start up sequence just for the extra exhaust noise you can hear :icon thumright:

I suppose I was lucky in wanting a Nardo car and it being a free colour... my second choice would have been yellow, so if I had of chose that I’d have probably had to drop a couple of options too

Buuuut back to the indicators...

@monopole I see you mentioned yours are the ones that flash 2nd 3rd 1st then the rest... is this really noticeable? or do you know of any kits that have corrected this?

What criticism have I given? My input into this thread was merely a personal opinion to help Phil in his decision.

Your input was totally uncalled for and basically sectioned out the entirety of the members that populates this part of the forum, when it comes to washing... the majority of us make an effort to take care of our cars.

EDIT: Ah I see, you have a set of these indicators, all makes sense now. Don’t take it personally they are a cool touch and I considered them at one point but my luck isn’t good hence the guards.

Well don’t rub the pano roof in will you ;) I’ve only ever experienced it once on an RS3 demo, it was amazing to have... I talked myself out of it because of how they have been known to creak and again down to overall cost not to run away with myself.

As far as I am aware, they all come from the same place so this is how they are made.
In-situ it is not even noticeable, the camera / video enhances the affect.

But clearly, you should be well wary as apparently 1W LED lights can burn your car to a crisp. Apparently.

Are these available on the TTRS?

Spent all ur money on the flash colour . My next car will definitely have pano, further rubbed in over the last weeks with the fantastic weather

Ohh I don’t mean to rub it in... but a sunny day with the pano roof open is like heaven :tearsofjoy:

I think I’ll go for the ones in your link @monopole did you fit them yourself... I’m guessing it’s a straight forward enough job to get done?

Not sure of the fitnemt for yours @D0C do the two cars share the same mirrors do you know?

Exactly that, colour took over some options.

My next car is a long time away now, or that’s the plan.

Very easy straight swap, pop off the mirror cap then 2 retaining screws and the 2pin electrical plug and replace the units.

Check my link which leads to the website @D0C

Awesome... I’ve got the Audi carbon mirror caps fitted at the minute so know that’s a easy job to remove and expose the rest then

Just had a look. Can't see anything for the TT. My next question is...do the TT and A3 share the same wing mirror parts? I would have thought not, although they do look similar from pics off the web!

My bad, you do need to pop the mirror lens out to get access to one of the retaining screws, easy enough with the cap off.

Not sure doc, I think someone with etka would confirm. Does Sean have it? @T-800

I’ve just had a look at photos I’ve got of a TT and compared to the RS, pretty sure they are a different shape mirror I’m afraid. The covers on the 8V are much more squared off, I think the TT mirrors are a little wider.

Comes down to whether the indicator unit itself is the same, but with a different size mirror I’d be surprised if it was?

TTRS part numbers

8S0 949 101A and 102A

RS3 part numbers

8V0 949 101A and 102A

Part looks the same in Etka but it’s not always accurate with drawings

If they are different, looks like I'll be sticking with the boggo indicators on the wing mirrors!

Thanks @T-800 helpful as always.

Different part numbers yes but that will always be the case Doc.

Whether that means the designs are different is another case.
Worst case.........you could sell em on or part ex them for Carbon Stone chip guards

@D0C Here’s one for you mate...

I’m looking at getting the ones in this link;

https://www.automirr.com/audi-a3-8v...ential-turn-signal-light-2013-2018_p0048.html

but wouldn’t be making the purchase for a couple of weeks, soooo...

If you wanted, you could go ahead and buy them, and try them on your TT... if they fit that’s all good... if they don’t, I’ll buy them off you for the price you’ll have paid?

Let me know what your think :friends:

The dynamic indicators have turned up today. There just happened to be a TT and S3 parked next to each other over in the local car park so I could see if they had the same wing mirrors. They are very similar and have broadly the same shape/design, however, the TT does have very slightly slimmer ones. That's not to say the part won't fit...it's certainly the same width and angle and will sit inside the casing.

I just need to figure out now the best way of getting the wing mirror caps off. Looking at some YouTube videos they seem to suggest the glass needs to come out, but I'm sure I recall reading somewhere on here that it wasn't necessary to do that. I'm a real novice at these things so am wary of breaking anything. Any ideas, my friendly forum members?

Edit: just seen above that the glass does not need removing. Assuming if I angle the glass down that I can reach in and flick the cap off?

You're not missing much with the matrix lights @AudiNutta, I barely ever use them and only really wanted the front dynamic indicators. I find that they're a bit hit and miss, sometimes way too slow to respond to oncoming traffic and will blind people for a split second before switching off in that direction. I've had way too many angry beeps and flashes when using them!

Didn't know these dynamic side mirror indicators exist... definitely next on my list to buy!
