Anyone tried 255/30/19 Square Setup?

I use 8.5J x ET47 with 235 winters on the car with no issues.
Not sure if 255 would fit ok without some poke and if the tyre wouldn't foul the inner strut etc......

I think 255 all round fit ok on the saloon but not on the sportback from what i have read online. 
Those 2 above would never fit the sport back,
My Michelin on front is rubbing on hardlock (255) but the Pirelli doesn’t so need to stick to the Pirelli’s

Or go 245 michelins, they would be a better choice than 255 pzeros for sure.
You think? But then If I tried them and they still rubbed I’d be stuck with 2 useless tyres. At least I know P-zeros don’t rub
Haha true, the 245 michelins are pretty similar size to 255 pzero so you should be fine. I think once u have all 4 michelins on you will see how good they are!

235 Michelin’s have as much tread as the OEM 255 Pirelli’s. Both side by side ....

Ahhh very good to know lads. Not sure if I should try the 245 Michelin’s or Play it safe and get the 235 Michelin’s
I'd probably gor for 245 up front and 235 rear. But be best to check if they 100% will fit first.

No doubt in my mind now. 235’s on the FL SB. I’m running HRE 8.5’s, ET47 with 3mm spacers on the front & the 255 MPS4’s just stuck out too far for my liking. I now have four, new 255’s for sale as I know I’ll never use them. I should have listened to @Kristijan on his Revo thread.

If it's rubbing it's probably on the arch liner screw on the front. If you take that out and trim the plastic tab it shouldn't rub. Mine doesn't rub at all on the front but my wheels are ET37 and i think yours are ET35 aren't they with the spacers?

Yeah you can see exactly where it is rubbing, like. It’s the inner plastic trim. So can’t exactly take that out or would be left with a big gap
And yes I’m ET35
With one of my previous cars I used a hairdryer to bend and adjust the plastic trim for more clearance. They are generally a flexible piece of plastic with space behind. The other option is to redrill the one of two of the mounting holes on the trim so you can reposition it a little.
This is confusing as hell lol

I want to change to Michelin but I’ve read a reply from Michelin to someone who emailed them directly basically saying stick with the Pirelli’s until we have an R02 spec tyre else it can cause issues with the Haldex etc and cause constant TC interference and this was relating to the staggered/square setup.
Yet guys saying they’ve had no issues so I haven’t got a clue which way to go lol
I’m running the staggered wheels stock with 10mm springs going on and 12mm spacers all around, what is the best tyre size on OEM wheels to fit with MPS4s??

BC forged 19x9.5 with 255/30 ps4s tyres all round.
Current - 2018 RS3 Sedan
Past - 2016 RS3 SB
I do still wonder how well the Haldex system copes with the staggered setup. There is a 2% difference in rolling diameter between the 235 & 255’s. ( calculator here https://tiresize.com/comparison/). Also The fronts will wear quicker so the difference will increase a little over time.
I know its not much of a difference but the traction control / haldex still has to compensate.
For tyres to be same rolling diameter in staggered setup yiu would need 275/35 up front!! Ideally I’d like 275s all around.

Considering the unusual amount bogging down and TC interaction in perfect dry weather I'm not convinced it does cope well.
Thanks, how did it affect the handling? Any issues with traction control interference?

I had the ps4s on my pfl as well. No issues at all.
I have heard of a few with TC interfering but apparently after a couple of 100km, it seems to resolve itself.
I haven't really pushed the FL much but on the PFL, I found the square setup better than OEM.
Note - I do have/had a larger rear ARB on both cars.
Current - 2018 RS3 Sedan
Past - 2016 RS3 SB
