Brake pads and disk recomendations

The rear disks and pads on my A4 177TDi are on their way out.
Ideally I'd like some std fitment pads that produce less dust and disks that do not corrode at the centre (within seconds).

Does anyone have any recommendations (from personal experince)?

I was looking at
- red stuff pad, tho I hear they squeal badly
- some drill disks, tho don't know if they'd be cheesy

Redstuff squeal, but this is / can be subjective. They squeal only when "cold" otherwise they are fine. EBC USR slotted or USR drilled and slotted would be my recommendation. EBC GD series I have heard can be a bit noisy.

Redstuff should only squeal when bedding in and silent thereafter .

Low dust for sure .

The only real way to banish rust is to paint with Hammerite Smooth or like product days before fitting .

Edit: Removed this part of my post as I'm fairly sure the above said dust not rust and has been edited...

Personally got MTEC drilled and groved discs with Mintex pads (nothing special but cheap as chips on eBay, look the part and perform fine, generally get them both as a set... I also swapped the pads out for something different to try stop brake dust but to no avail), fair few members here (mostly on older models but same difference) run them and like them.

+1 for MTEC - their coating is really good. Had them on my A4 and no rust (with brembo pads - these were dusty though). Go solids on the rear unless you want drilled/slotted on the front at some point. I would recommend the dimpled discs over drilled as drilled discs tend to crack.

My pagid pads are very dusty and squeel like a stuck pig so wouldn't recommend them. Apparently it's a bit of a lottery on what compound you get

I have EBC USR slotted discs and Red Stuff pads on the front of my A4.

Find them great and absolutely no squeel.

I'm also after some recommendations for pads, but for RS5 brakes on my S4, seems like red stuff is the common choice - any views anyone? I would say sorry for the thread hijack but I'm figuring that if red stuff is recommended for one it's most likely good for the other (to some degree).

I don't see any issues with it, it should be fine imo.

Maybe no problems with them, but are they any good? I like the sound of dust reduction and apparently no squealing (although I know above you've said they do), not sure how they perform or whether I should go for the OEM pads which come with the kit, but I'm not sure what they are!

And I have USR slotted and Redstuff on my S4, just bedded-in the breaks and absolutely love them. Re: squeal, given it is summer I don't think we should be getting any squeal, even the stock pads are quite in summer months. Winters is when we'll find out if there is any

So far, I haven't tried emergency brakes as I am still in the bed-in period, the 10 - 60-20 mph hard stops that I did without activating ABS they were brilliant. They did fade out on the 8th attempt however, they were supposed to fade-out as part of the process.

Sounds good, how would you compare to the stock Brembo's? Seems the RS5 use Brembo too..

From what I know stock Brembos are fine for the normal spirited road driving off3eing great stopping power. I think the only downside is the brake dust. If you can live with it (I couldn't) I believe stock be fine. I'd go Redstuff if they are cheaper!
