Need help before I scrap this car!
Miss's blew car up last week so bought a full running car with same engine.. car drove mint and swapped the engine. Car fired up fine and drove mint. Now it won't start. Starter motor is clicking and that's it. I've changed the battery for a brand new one, and fit another starter off the old engine that I know is good and still the same.. bumps off fine..
Any ideas??

Flywheel not turning, but remove the starter & test away from the car to be sure.

Starter was from a good runner. Also tested off the car and works fine. Engine turns over ok on the crank..

Clicking would denote power issue usually

Checked power to starter and it's same voltage as the battery, tried power to the solenoid straight from the battery and still just clicking...
Removed starter and tried on the floor and it works fine..
Tried another starter from my mates car that I know works good and still just clicking..
Push it off and it fires straight away, no noises at all from clutch/flywheel and clutch operates absolutely fine...

Battery voltage is very good, also tried with jump leads.

Could be an earth issue from the battery to engine, put the black jump lead on the battery and other end to the engine and see if it starts.

Agree with this.

Bypass all wiring to starter and see what happens, (obviously have someone in the car cranking the key at the same time to tell the PCM)

I would have to agree, this points to a wiring problem, possibly on the Lowe voltage side, could even be a problem with the ignition switch, probably earth related.
