hi lads.

Going buying an a4 that’s advertised as a s line (150 ps).

Done the hpi check and it shows the model as a sport ultra. - it’s the correct reg and vin.

Is there any difference between the 2 models if the sport ultra has a s line kit, s line seats, steering wheel, badges etc, other than the lower suspension?

Question may sound a bit stupid - I’m not up to date on the Audi specs!

Thanks

Big giveaway are S-Line badges on the front wings, steering wheel, embossed into the front seats and on the will plates when you open the doors.

Headlights/taillights are different too.

Do some research by Googling photos of both models and store them on your phone, get to notice the differences so you can spot them when you inspect.

Could be that someone has taken a damaged sport and put some S-Line bits on it to make extra money. Are you buying from somewhere reputable?

The slightest doubt should set the alarm bells ringing and don't be afraid to walk away - there will always be another.

Why not stick the reg in gocompare or similar this should tell you for sure which model it is

Thanks for the replies lads.

Ya I put it into gocompare and a few others. Coming back as a sport ultra!

It’s from a main Audi dealer and the background check came back clear for insurance write offs etc.

It has the sline exterior kit and interior - badges on the wings etc. the lights are the led version. The s line logo on the seats....

Would it be common for people to buy a sport ultra and kit it as a s line? Or would it have been cheaper to just buy the s line in the first place?

Richie, your car looks mint! Don’t know if I could go with a white car again tho!

It could be that online comparison site have the model down as sport instead of s-line for 2016 models or something to do with early models.

I’ve rang up for insurance on numerous occasions and they didn’t have the correct model name and spec for the car I was wanting to insure.

End of the day you’ve found to S-line models with are coming back as sport ultra. I highly doubt both are sports that have been retrofitted with S-line parts.

Also when an Audi dealership sells a used car all they do it put the registration into their system and the specification names, options list, technical data for the car is automatically generated on the Audi Used Approved page.

If you really want to confirm that the car your interested in is an S-line speak to Audi UK and give them the registration of the car. They will be able to tell you the model from their system and Audi UK are the official import order this country.

Take it your near Holyhead because when you click on them links and click back to results it shows your search.

Ya.
I’m after finding a good few of them that are coming up as sport ultra, but found a few 150ps that are also coming up as s line! If it was just the one coming up as sport then I’d probably have walked away from it!

Getting to hollyhead will be only half my journey :) I’m in Ireland!

I see. Definitely makes sense then to use the closets UK town then on the used car search

I think ultra is to do with the car is a diesel?
Where SLine is more with the trim level
Sport granted is trim level also

Is it not missing the twin rear exhausts, and could it be debadged as no TDI one on the boot lid as well...

My Australian market car was always listed on the Audi portal as a Sport as S-line was not a separate trim level for MY16 but it is full S-Line spec, maybe something similar has occurred here. Also, if looking to the UK market but based in Ireland, maybe consider virtual cockpit - you can switch from mph to kph so easily.

No difference really only the sport ultra is better equipped
S Line is better equipped than Sport. Ultra is about engine emissions and smaller tyres.

Some S Line cars I looked at also showed up as Sports. Never could work out why!

I have a spoet ultra and it is better equipped than rge s line, 3 zone climate control, audi drive select etc. Plus it has the sport seats and steering wheel and 17inch upgraded alloys.

Audi Drive Select and 3 zone climate control are standard on A4. S Line has 18" alloys and better trimmed seats.

Sorry but on Audi the trims go SE, Sport, S Line, Black Edition.

They are in the UK, which is possibly where the confusion here stems from!
