Hi

I have, I think, factory rear sensors which have pitch and volume controlled via the MMI. I have carista and I want to add visual parking but the option does not show up for me.

According to carista support ‘no Park Steer Assist module was found’ so does that mean I can’t get visual parking? I read on another forum something about a module in the boot but I am not sure what I am looking for.

Any ideas?

I can't say for the B8.5 but for the B8, you needed to change the parking controller from a 4 channel to an 8 channel to have front + rear parking (obviously) and it was only these 8 channel controllers that supported OPS I think.

If that’s true it would be annoying as pretty much the only reason I bought carista was to change the parking sensor behaviour.

If the module is indeed not capable how have others seemingly enabled it as it certainly has proven to work.

I'd think that if others with B8.5 and only rear parking sensors have enabled OPS using Carista and making no other hardware changes, then it sounds like I am wrong and all B8.5 cars has a fully functioning parking controller and it is just that option that needs enabling.

I seem to remember that the easy way to implement OPS while retro fitting front parking sensors on a B8.5, was said to be to buy the kit for B8 and bin the existing B8.5 controller - though maybe things/ideas/understanding has moved forward.

It’s quite possible I am mistaken and getting confused between the 8 and 8.5.

Are there any known good guides on retro fitting front sensors and visual aids onto an 8.5?

Sorry I can't say as I was upgrading a B8 - ie retro fitting front sensors and enabling OPS etc. It was only while trying to find and read everything I could from the internet about doing this that I bumped into information concerning some people choosing to retro fit the complete B8 parking controller etc as the easy way out, things might have changed by now. I did just what a lot of people do and stuff relevant phrases into Google - it worked for me!

As above would like same option any updated info on this.
