Right 1st off i have an A7 245 bhp Tdi but the A6 section gets more hits and there the same engine anyhow..
.soooooooo

Right im running a DTUK box tuning box and after about 1500 miles i get the coil light symbol flashing on the dash..

Its to do with the boost control switch in the intake pipe getting to much oil on the sensor and requires a quick clean out..

But heres the rub, i have deleted my back boxes and just have straight pipes but everything else is still in place I.E standard down pipe DPF blah blah. Now when the coil light flashes i have no boost as to be expected as the cars in limp mode. But my exhaust sounds so much deeper and louder in limp mode even on tickover???

So im asking the engine experts out there in Forum land why is my exhaust note deeper in limp mode/coil light flashing mode?

And is there anyway to replicate it in normal boost running mode as it sounds way better... ha ha..

Any info would be great..

Cheers

Cheers i had a quick read, i think its to do with the turbo not getting the required boost so it shuts down and the noise increases.

Its a nice deeper sound its not horrible like i have read in some of the other threads about this issue, the turbo shutting down sounds about right thou as theres power there but very slow increase as in a none turbo diesel, pity there isnt away of getting the sound whilst still having full boost thou...

Right so... When in limp, the vanes are moved out ov the way to not cause a restriction in exhaust making it more free flowing when running off turbo, and with that leading to your original question I guess there is no way do replicate the extra noise when all is well :/

Well thats a bummer

Those boxes are terrible.
If you want more power, take it to a decent remap place, who can custom build a tune for you... always get better results and made for what your car can do.

The DTUK box has been great for me, i bought it new and its on my 2nd car now, but when funds allow i'll be getting a bobby singh remap and gearbox map.
