After the excitement of getting my new rims yesterday I nipped out to get some food last night and turning into my lane and some woman not paying attention rear ended me.

Thankfully both of us were only travelling very slowly. The passenger of the car, a female, had the cheek to tell me I was driving too fast and it was my fault... I did try to explain that if I was going too fast how the hell did I get rear ended...

Now I just need to go through the pain of getting it repaired. It looks like a new bumper, valance, exhaust mount and rear light and it will be good as new. The polo that hit me didn't fair as well and was underivable.

You were driving to fast and so it was your fault that you got rear ended?! What is wrong with some people! People like that shouldn’t be allowed on the road..

Clearly the passenger was a fecking thick cxxt, excuse my out of character blunt & rudeness, but i really cant stand absolute stupidness of that magnitude, clearly logic, common sense & intelligences were out of stock when she was conceived.

Awww mate I'm so sorry to see this.
Nothing worse than working so hard on your pride and joy then something like that happening.
Fingers crossed you'll get it back to normal quickly and painlessly.

I know an Audi salesman who was driving a brand new S6, he let an old guy out of a side road and then rear ended him further down the road.

I am insured with Aviva and its been quite simple so far and is booked in for repair a week on monday. Need to speak to Aviva about not valetying the var and how I claim to get the rear of the car ceramic coated again!

I’ll look after your new wheels whilst you get the car repaired lol

In all seriousness that’s gutting for you :(

You are far too kind :) I've had enough time to calm down and think it could have been worse, it can be fixed, there's no body work damage. So whilst majorly pee'd off I will get over it.

:) I know. I had my lad in the car as well. So things could have been a lot worse. We are all fine, its only an object that can and will be repaired. And it seems with little ball ache involved. A hire car will be dropped off to me the day before collection, Aviva come and collect it and return it, the day after I get it back they collect the hire car. I have been told it will be a car of a similar standard. Whilst I am not expecting a s6 it wont be a 1tre fiesta.

Cars been gone a week, I was called last tuesday to say they had assessed the car and ordered the parts but did warn me that Audi are on a go slow. Spoke to them today and still no parts. So who knows when I will get the car back.

That really is a stupid thing to say...you just been rear ended but was driving too fast, makes perfect sense...NOT!
Hopefully parts come in soon, seems very slow at the moment at least with new orders from factory, but hopefully parts ok.

They have just came back and said they can't diamond cut the rim anymore and if I get any kurb damage on any of the rims I'm snookered. They are replacing the 2 front tyres as a good will gesture and have offered to get all 4 wheels powder coated free of charge any colour I want.
I'm not sure if I want to as I like the diamond cut finish.

Thats not good. Personally I wouldn't go for the powder coated finish either. You will never be happy with them. HAve you asked what other options there are?

would strongly recommend against powder coat. Had that done to my a6 spare alloys for winter tyres, and they chipped when tyres were put on. Really seemed very very soft coating :-(

whats your thoughts in these options please

I prefer the black rotors, but need to ensure black finish has top clear coat if only for a bit of protection
