TCU upgrade update

Hi guys,

Just thought I would post an update on the TCU flash I brought a month ago to help combat the lag on my mapped 272tdi.

Done over 1k miles since then and everything seems to have bedded in well.

There is quite a difference now with how the car reacts to the throttle and also an improvement in mid range, almost as if the car is making more hp/torque. (Similar feel to when I got the tuning box)

More than enough power for the UK roads I think any more torque and it wouldnt be usable.

I'm sure the 0 60 has gone down atleast by 0.2 seconds as I beat an e92 m3 off the line and he didn't catch me until after silly speeds.

Very very impressed so far as the way the gearbox would behave at times with the lag before was very frustrating.

I wish the gearbox was this good stock!

It works on all modes as it supposedly changes the mapping, gear ratios.

In comfort it's still similar but with a much better throttle response and feels notably smoother.

Gearbox in sport and ADS to dynamic and it's extremely responsive and really feels a lot more powerful than it actually is.

Would be interesting to know how much power and torque it's making, will consider doing a dyno run soon for sure.

In terms of before n after, before it was still very fast, but there was lag occasionally. So it feels like the tcu software has basically made the car more driveable and helped put all the power down better now, super smooth and rapid performance. Mpg also up too!

It's basically a flash tool that u plug into the obd port and the tool downloads the new software onto the gearbox

I would like to think so - I've had a tcu upgrade before on my a3 and that had been inspected various times when it was at the dealer n no mention of it.
