So on my normal commute to work this morning, I stopped at a roundabout with a que.
This girl in a Fiat 500 hit me straight up the *** ( caught on my rear dash cam) ill post the video tonight and some images.

Im OCD with my car, I detail it once a week and keep her in prestene condition. yet someone will manage to cause problems, its a accident but i mean come on man... the audi seems to have gotten away with most of it just a few scratches on my bumper, Front of the fiat was way worse.

The bumper looks like just scratches. any one know what i should look for incase it damaged my car more than i can see?

(A5 2012)

TBH the girl said it was 100% her fault so im not angry with her, just upset about my cars bumper :sob:

Uh oh. I can smell some whiplash claim in the air.

Sorry to hear that. You ok?

Hope you’ll get it sorted without any major work needed to your car.

I would’ve check under the bumper also but by the garage so you can have some proof for it.

Yeah I'm fine thanks mate
More emotional about my baby getting a shafting.
The concern for me is the impact was a loud thud yet all i see are a few minor scratches :(

Was your baby in the car or you call your car baby? Daft question but as a father of two, I would be more concerned about them two than my car.
Was this girl speed big? Can you tell by the rear cam footage?
Definitely would check it as crash bar could get bent and bumper flexed back to original shape.

She looks like she was going at 30mph into me and braked to slow. so she hit me whilst breaking. the audi didn't even move but the noise was bone curdling. soft loud firm FUD

Sorry to hear this mate. If only these people would pay attention.
Happened to me twice in the past.
One of them looked fine but the bars were damaged underneath, therefore better to get checked and repaired under her insurance than take any chances.
All the best mate.

I would be taking it to your dealers and getting them to check it out thoroughly just in case there is damage .and get her insurance to pay .

Yeah probably going down that route, My old mans a mechanic so ill get his opinion on it first, if its just a paint scuff ill offer her the chance to pay cash and i can get someone i trust to fix it for me.

I own the car outright. so it would be the insurances choice of garage?
sorry its my first bump, Not sure the procedure.

I have her details and i told her ill call tonight to discuss what i want to do.

Insist on an Audi approved repairer rather than the cheapest place Admiral suggest.

Still a claim and Admiral will shoot up your premium next year anyway.

Been exactly that route with Admiral 4 years ago.

I would’ve gave it to dealership.

Admiral said its a non-fault claim, so it shoulder effect me? TBH say theirs crash bar damage, then it would probably workout better even if the premium rises.

Also Admiral insured me at 22 years of age with 2 years no claims on a 3ltr! for 1k! so awesome!

I was hit from behind also. I was stationery and with Admiral. Mine was also no fault, as private hire car hit me from the rear when I wasn't moving so clearly he's fault. Still, they raised my premium as I was more likely to be affected by this incident in the future. I claimed some injuries so maybe that was the case.

****** good price you got there. I had 1.6 Skoda Fabia, as a first car here with no discounts and took policy from Elephant for £1200. Paid for the car £1400. LOL

I was hit recently and I actually didn’t make a claim from Admiral at all. I told them I was hit while parks as you have to inform them. But I independently got a manufacturer approved repairer to send a quote to the other insurer. They approve and it was all fixed without accident management needing to be involved.

Even though they say it’s non-fault, they still whack up your risk factor and it impacts renewal.

I had a non fault claim with Hughes and premium went up for a few years til it was all paid out. Other driver admitted it was all his fault.

Insurance is fraud.

Thought i would post a update. auto-fix Rochester done a good job with repairing my bumper. cant tell and its covered for cars lifetime. on the dash cam it seems the mechanics like having coffee breaks on my boot lid :wtf:
but i checked my whole car and not a scratch in site so I'm okay, and they dident rag it about.
Also got a machine polish chip repair and a ceramic coating coming soon, hopefully nobody decides to play bumper cars with me once that's done. And my car insurance needs renewal in October so i will let you guys know how much extra i have to pay.

pics of the repair here

Did they repair the bumper or replace it?

Redoing the whole exterior of your car will give it a big lift!

They repaired the original and even touched up a mark on the boot for some reason but I'm not complaining lol

Yeah sorry to re post in this old post lol, Just had a new insurance policy taken out.

Admiral wanted 2k a year and 3k excess....... Confused.com sucks! They were all about the same with the non fault accident, Then a friend of mine said try LV and they are saints. The non fault claim doesn't even effect my price, And 1400 for this year! Brilliant!

Still sucks to know your prices rise at a non fault accident. LV was my saviour.

Sorry to hear about this mate, glad you've got it a bit cheaper, insurance is a joke when it comes to claims.

allready sealed the deal mate for the year. 1400 is not bad for a 23 year-old (only been driving 3 years)

Friend of mine (17) got hit a couple of days ago. Tore the bumper and rear fender(?) apart, also was pushed into the curb so left front alloy got scuffed. He wasn't in the car and obviously wasn't at fault (was parked legally by the side of the road near a roundabout). Doesn't believe that his insurance wwon't go up next year though. Tried to explain the risk factory especially at his age will cause it to go up as he's gone through his insurance. Guess he'll find out next year.

Good to see you got yours sorted though.
